“Much better than I expected”

This is a must do if you are visiting. I mean come on! The least we could do is stop by.
We are not skiers, but thought "ahh.. lets just go ahead and waste the money on a cheesy tourist attraction". Surprisingly we were wrong. A very nice experience for the money. Great design and crowd control.

We visited after having brunch at Burj al Arab, which is a short distance away and a Cheap taxi ride. Friday morning, Mall was bustling but not packed /crowded. We were able to walk up and buy tickets after only a 2-5min wait in line. We have waited much longer at many other american places.

We did not do the skiing, because the next ski lesson was an hour later and we didnt want to miss our desert safari. Chose instead the Fun park pass- You can tube, sled, ride the chair lift and roll down the hill in giant plastic ball, all day for 57 dollars. Even got a chance to see the penguins from afar as group did their personal penguin encounter.

Why must you do this? This place is HUGE... and it is contained within a mall! I mean really! I thought it would be this one little old ski slope and some finely crushed ice and long lines of people and crowds hovering around it. NOO! It is more like a mini-snow-theme park with A huge ski slope ....within a mall - just the ridiculousness of it all.. YOU MUST DO IT. and this is not even the largest mall in the world! You MUST ride the ski lift to appreciate the magnitude because it turns 45 degrees around a corner. This does not included a snow cave/maze with ice sculpture, a mini-track to sled, a mini hill to go tubing down.

The size of the ski park which you can admire from inside the mall, without paying money to go in - does not even include the assoicated facilities - The large area where there are multiple lines to get your snow pants, jacket, boots. The somewhat thin-fleecelike gloves are obtained from the nearby ski shop. Can you get warmer, thicker more weather appropriate gloves to use in the -3 C temps?... Yes. But come on! if you really want expert gear, and top of the line conditions- you would not be in dubai, you would be at Lake Tahoe. Besides they are embroidered with "SKI Dubai: you get to keep them and they make excellent souvenirs!

We had a blast! If you are scared to take pictures with your camera ( dropping it in snow/damage etc) or too busy having fun, dont worry they have photographers running around taking your pictures throughout the park. They will hand you bracelets with the code on them to recover your pics for a fee when you are done. DO THIS! It sounds pricey BUT there is an option for you to combine ALL the pics they take of you on one CD...... No matter how many there are. This is a great deal. Wish we would have known this, we would have taken more pictures.

Very well organized, wasnt crowded. no long waits. This was probably one of my best theme park experiences ever. Seriously. We were able to walk up purchase tickets, ride/view all of the experiences at least once in less than 1hr and half on a Friday afternoon (12-130pm). Of course you can spend all day here if you like, but I think 2hrs was plenty of time for young adult tourist couple. I dare you to try that at Disney and Six Flags. Amazing! So glad we did it!

Tip: Ladies try to get a larger size snowboot and wear your provided socks with your ballet flats inside the snow boots for a nice snug/sturdy fit.
I wore my snow suit over my sundress and felt perfectly fine! Dont worry about dressing for snow! Come in your summer attire and put the thick snow attire over it and walk out for some sledding- Ha! It will add to the ridiculous feeling of it all!
Bring a durable/water/snowproof water bottle holder that you can strap along you underneath your snow suit. You will be active, there is water available inthe vending machines, and lockers are included with you fee. But you will want to keep your water with you- This place is too big to be running out to your locker everytime you want to take a sip.
Lots of fun!

“Snow in Desert, what else can amaze you more?”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

Ski dubai is located inside one of the biggest mall of Dubai - Emirates. Its definitely one of the place to visit with your childrens. Want to wow them, have a good time with them? Then head here.
Its literally a very very big snowpark and gives you the feeling of being in a realtime snow environment. The temperature inside is as low as -3 providing chills down your spine. There are so many adventure rides inside for all age group. What stands out is the chairlift which takes you high above to your drop off point. Thrill junkies can ski down the long slopes which is suitable for both amateurs and professionals alike. There are many classes for ski wherien the guides train you properly for the whole procedure.
All the attractions aside, it does have some flaws. They charge an extra money for getting the glove, which is a lot. My brother and me stayed gloveless due to this and almost froze our hands to death. So I advise that you carry your own gloves with you beforehand. Another suggestion is that if you do take a pass, try to spend as long as 3-4 hours. Peoples going for just an hour may not benefit as they charge the same price for a day as compared to an hour. So free off some time and spend quality moments here. Overall, definitely a must visit.

“a fun 2 hours”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

Bring your own gloves. They provide pants suit...You will have to buy gloves and hat. You really do not need a hat. The course is short and is intermediate. A fun 2 hours. I did not need more time. I did wish I could have seen the penguins..but they only come out a few times and it is an extra charge to see them.

“Surprisingly Awesome”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

I came in a skeptic, left a convert. Had two little ones who loved the sleds and inner tubes, while the big kids took on the impressively long runs on skis and boards. All equipment, including gloves, hats, boots, etc. provided. A great operation!
