When I review this hotel it is in comparison to other 5 star hotels and some of which are in Dubai. And yes I do have high expectations....

We advised the hotel of our early check in prior to arrival and a room was ready which we were very grateful for. Info was provided on half board and we were given the info on bus times and that was it. No welcome drink, no being shown to the room, no notices anywhere, verbally or otherwise around the severity of the construction works....

Our room was provided on 2nd floor overlooking the construction site and pools. We arrived around 7am and work was well underway at that point so we requested a higher room and the reception desk were very obliging and moved us to the 8th floor later that day.

Well... we were advised of some construction but not the fact most of the hotels beach missing! Every day except the weekend the works started at 6am, coaches of workers arriving, the 24x7 rumble of the generators and the beep beep beep of machinery moving around the site. We could not enjoy our balcony and when at the pool we sat as close to the speakers as possible!

The room was ok but was was tired, bed was large and very soft, plenty of bathroom amenities however towels which were old and scratchy. One day turndown did not happen and the following morning our newspaper was not delivered. The flooring was tile except the large rug surrounding the bed. I dropped an earing and when on my hands and knees I was shocked. Who knows how long ago that was vacuumed. Many hotels use technology in their rooms but nothing to be seen here, not a criticism just an observation of the hotels age.

Breakfast was poor, yes a good choice of pastries but only 4 fresh fruit, 2 x melon, orange segments & pineapple! I brought this to the attention of one of the restaurant managers who said I could ask for some. And how was I supposed to know that?! Also fresh smoothies were chargeble! Coffee was ok but the taste varies day to day, I think it was down to how long it had been stewing in the large vats.

For the most part, we cannot fault the staff who were polite and clearly happy in their work.

Seagrill I will review separately but the restaurant is lovely and the food fantastic. Little Miss India was good, again I will write a separate review for this.

The hotel is predominately used for tourists and dress code is very casual.

As the issues were building we decided to leave the hotel and move to another. We were just not enjoying our time there. As we checked out, Pedro, one of the managers asked for feedback, which we gave and offered to upgrade us. At this point no upgrade would take away the construction or the issues we had experienced however all credit to Pedro on his handling of the situation.

Overall the hotel is not 5 star, maybe 4 at best and if you want to enjoy a break on the beach in Dubai, check the small print for construction works. With expo 2020 ever closer, the amount of construction is like nothing we have seen in the last 8 years of travelling to Dubai.

Friendly and helpful staff in a very clean and modern hotel. Great for business and couple and whilst the kids enjoyed themselves there were not too many other children during our staff which perhaps makes it perfect for couples. Very clean all around, plenty of choices both for breakfast and dinner. It was a pleasant and relaxing stay all around.

Myself and my partner stayed at The Fairmont for 8 nights in September. The hotel was amazing, everything from the beautiful interior of the rooms, the fresh flowers in reception to the amazing attentive staff, wonderful variety of food and cleanliness.

The hotel has variety of restaurants which you can choose from. We went half board which included breakfast and lunch or dinner, you had everything from Indian to Italian to Chinese. The staff within the hotel were so welcoming, always there helping with any needs and advising on excursions and local attractions to visit.

The rooms were immaculate, our room was spacious, clean and had plenty of room for storing clothes and belongings. The room was also cleaned once a day and then a staff member would return in the evening to provide additional towels etc. If needed to to remake the bed.

As I am on a vegan diet I found the hotel to be very accommodating to this. The customer service I received was outstanding. All restaurants catered to my needs and fully understood what could be eaten and not. Within the buffer restaurant they created new dishes for me which was amazing. All restaurants provide delicious, fresh food and are all very welcoming and accommodating. The food was definitely some of the best food I have tasted.

Finally, a extra touch which really helped with the hot weather - throughout the day staff around the poolside and beach would bring over ice cold minty smelly flannels which really cooled you down in the heat, this touch was really lovely. Alongside this, in the evenings outside they placed massive air cons to also help with the humidity.

The hotel has a taxi service which is great. However, please note that there are 2 choices of taxi, a standard and a Lexus, the Lexus can charge quite a bit extra so if preferred and want to save money ask for a standard taxi.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone whether you are going as a couple, a family or a group of friends.

Great staff very polite, friendly and helpful from the minute we entered the hotel. To wish a happy anniversary and to welcome us we had a card signed by staff, bottle of bubbly and chocolate cake on arrival in our room, which was a lovely gesture. Anything we asked for got dealt with straight away. Very Clean hotel, would visit again.

Recently stayed in this hotel (room 433) for only one night.

As beautiful and amazing the hotel is, be aware that there is construction on the beach which is a little inconvenient.

Even though this construction has nothing to do with the hotel, you are not really able to relax by the pool/beach without the load construction noise.

We spoke to one of the managers as there was nothing mentioned on the app about the construction. If we would of known before hand or informed at check in, we would of chosen a different hotel

We were also offered a complimentary bottle of wine but was never delivered, maybe he forgot?????
