Stayed for a one night had a lovely room facing the Burj khalifa, Thanks to the entire staff very helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was very friendly. The View from 42nd floor is just amazing.

I should say that we have stayed at this hotel on many occasions now and the reason we keep going back is the great level of service that is offered to all guests.
There is only one current negative issue and that is that the Horizon club and rooms are bring refurbished .Things are usually refurbished for a reason and that is to upgrade and renew. So inevitably things are a little less than perfect at the moment but I am sure the hotel will be even better when the refurb is finished.
The restaurants are all good and the rooms comfortable but the hotels main asset is the staff, who work as a team and really seem to care.
We hope to go back again in the future and can heartily recommend it to others .

As frequent Shangri-La patrons, our experience at this location was not up to the brand standard we have come to expect from this luxury hotel. Don't get me wrong, the experience was alright and we had a couple of amazing experiences with service at Chi Spa and Shang Palace, but overall I have to admit we were disappointed. We arrived around 4pm when check-in time is 2pm, and had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready. Thankfully we were Horizon Club so we were able to sit in the lounge while we waited, but after traveling, we were ready to just get settled and it felt like it wasted about two hours of our vacation getaway time. We traveled as two adults for a weekend getaway without the children so time was precious. We also had some hiccups surrounding validation of our Golden Circle vouchers we planned on using at a restaurant which caused my husband to feel like our getaway ended up being a bit more stressful than it was worth. We weren't super impressed with the restaurants (with the exception of Shang Palace mentioned above which was delicious with great service). Overall, not a bad experience, but just not what we have come to expect from Shangri-La.

when travelling for business or leisure in dubai,the best place where to stay in shangri la..everything are near us...business bay,DIFC,dubai mall all are locate near by shangri la..specially recommend for the business people..horizon club terrace and ikandy ultra lounge will never forget from my mind..

Our hotel is located only 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport and ten minutes from the World Trade Centre, Dubai International Financial Centre, Downtown Dubai and Burj Khalifa. It is conveniently located whilst putting you at proximity to most of the city landmarks and entertainments and what makes it even more convenient is our shuttle bus services going round-trips on the hour every hour complimentary.

We stayed here at the 4´th of september until the 15´th september Room number 3309 at the 33 floor .

First of all then we arrived very late to Dubai, and after over 1,5 hours of waiting extra in the airport for the last suitcase then we finally arrived to the hotel, were we discovered when we got to the room that a bracelet was missing, and we directly contacted the reception wich did all they could to assist us finding it both trying to contact taxis we took there + looking the cameras to see if they could see were it was dropped, and then after a half hours of searchng we found out that the person that helps you out of the taxi had found it. so we were very glad then.

We had initially booked a stay for 7 days with 4 more days at another hotel, but after 2 days we went down to the reception to ask about the opportunity to stay the last 4 days there also. and to our big surprize we were told that we could get the 4 days extra at the same room, for less than we had booked pr day thru boking.com, so in the end we decided to stay there for 11 days and we really enjoyed it alot.

The breakfast was okay with a good selection of the most things you normally expect from these kind of breakfast buffet´s. fresh made juices were you just could ask for a special juice you wanted if they had not made it yet. (always remember to ask the staff to hear if they can provide things they dont have out already.)

the staff in the morning buffet was always kind to us and learned our names quickly wich feels nice that people recognise you there.

We stayed most of the mornings/early afternoons at the pool were the sun slowly started to reach the water and one side of the pool area around 10-10.30 and from that point the rest of the area within the next hour or so.
Then sometimes they played music at the pool wich we found nice.

No deep pool but totally okay and even with a jacuzzi for those that dont think it is hot enough ;-) And a child pool for the small children. + for those that like to sit in the water they had a pool bar also were they had chairs in the water you could sit on in the shades.

+ there was alot of birds at the pool wich we found cute. And the staff down there was alao very helpful when needed.

The gym aint the best or biggest tbh, but it is possible to train there if you want or need to. A fun change was that they had a squash court inside the hotel wich we havent seen at a hotel before, but it costed money to loan rakets and ball from them wich could have been free of charge now that people are paying so much to stay there in the firts place.

Their internet connection was okay for those things we needed internet for to the mobile phones bot at the pool and in the room or around the hotel in general.
Then they had a shuttlebus service that drives to the Dubai mall (+ at some times to the dubai walk and a beach if needed also very early i the morning only. this could drive there more times during the say if you ask me as not all want to get up and away at before 9 am. ;-)

But easy to get a ride to the dubai mall and home if you wanted to as it was easy to find the place were the bus parked at the mall.

They also have a indoor pool at the 42´th floor and a small gym. and a terrase were you have a super viev over the Dubai skyline with Burj Khalifa in the center of ti all.
The only downpart about this is that it aint included in the normal guests stay here as they have to pay extra just to use the pool and gym up there. (they might allow you to go up there just to take some pictures free of charge on the terrase. The gym up there is not worth talking about it is so small and mostly treadmills what i could see.

then they have a luonge and some form of club up there also but we never visited that since that costed extra also wich i then can understand but not that the pool and gym should cost extra. then they also had a jacuzzi there but it did not work when i tried it.

The roomserive and the food served was totally okay we had no problems with that.

The cleaning was also quick so nothing to say negative about that part eigther.

The TV is supposed to have around 115 channels give and take, but it is only the first 50 or so that had any sound on them in our room + the remote control sometimes stopped working then you had to bash it a little in the bed then the connection came back again :D

Some movie channels and some of the normal news chanels in english was what we needed only anyway.

We ate take away sushi from the Noi restaurant in the hotel one day wich also tasted nice. + we ate at the breakfast restaurant one time at evening time were they also served diffrent food diffrent days. nothing to complain about there eigther.

The last thing i would suggest to the hotel is the hotels own taxi cars cost. a normal taxi cap cost max around 50 AED but the hotel demanded 350 AED for the same trip o the airport (sure with a BMW but still. We have stayed at other hotels were they "only" used a LEXUS car to drive us to the airport but this was for 100 AED from around the same distans as from the Shangri-La hotel so this might be worth considering if the hotel wants to earn that extra money from their guests. 100 AED = double the taxi cost is acceptable to get a better car, but 350 AED is a bit to much. it aint a Limosine or something like that. or masarati ;-) But all in all we really enjoyed our stay here and we would gladly come back and reccomend others to come here.

near to the dubai Metro also if this have any intrest to people? (400meters give and take) that way you could cross over to the other side of Sheik road if needed.)
