Stayed last week of November 2011. Weather was a bit dodgy over caste and rainy for three days the rest of the week was 20 degrees....very weird !

Met at reception with welcome cocktail....polite and friendly reception staff....very smiley.
Lobby is impressive, very clean and comfortable definitely 4 star !
Room 431 fab sea view, great balcony, clean and comfortable.
Food lots of it, a little repetitive, good pizza and tunisian dishes lots of salad, lovely fresh warm croissants in the morning, fresh naan. Alcohol very nice, did nt like the wine myself. Lovely seasan cocktail. Friendly waiters and bar staff very hard working and they do not expect tips, although we did tip on the last day as appreciation of their hard work and great service.

It was my Birthday, it was very special, had a great chocolate cake made for just for me with candles and everyone sang happy birthday ! Loved it ! Thanks so Much !
Beach beautiful.

Was hassled walking to medina, really annoying this needs to stop as it puts off people browsing and buying ! Its just a cultural difference I guess. Visited the Beys house in the Medina very interesting. The mosque however is very plain and not worth the visit as you can only observe from the barriers and there is little to see. The Ribat looked good.

Did 3 cities tour with Thompson, not really worth it. Spent ages in shopping centers carpet factory and mosque and mauselem. We did go to El Gem the ampitheatre which is amazingly well preserved and well worth an independant visit. Book with reception to see El Gem yourself its half the price !

Port El Kantaoui is very nice and worth the £5 dinar taxi ride, not so much hassle as the Medina, nice resturants shops, pirate ships and dancing fountains, also a zoo and fun fair for the kids.

Room for improvement in hotel stop the sun bed mat man demanding tips for the sun bed matresses ! And provide rubbish towels for use on the beach, this will save the hotel paying out for new towels for the room and save the new towels being ruined.

Overall though loved it and will book again and I never go back twice ! Some people book every year !

Well done all see you next year ! Andy x

Room Tip: high floor with sea view !

Just back from a week at the Marhaba Beach Hotel. It had been billed by the travel agent as 5 Star but is in fact 4 star. Overall it was a good experience.
The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff in the restaurant and bars are very helpful.
The rooms are comfortable (on the 4th floor) but wish we had had a full sea view as opposed to the partial sea view we were given.
We were allocated a table at the beginning of the holiday and generally just had the one waiter who was very good. The all inclusive is good value and local wine, beer, water, coffee, tea etc are available all day.
The beach is lovely and it was easy to get a sunbed every day (1TD per person to the guy at the beach. He must be doing extremely well!). Cigarette and other sellers tried to sell their wares but wern't too intrusive. The pool area and gardens are very pleasant.
Food in the restaurant was plentiful and quite good (especially the local Tunisian dishes). However, unfortunately, my friend and I got sick as did a lady at a table close to us. We were probably just unlucky as other reviews have not mentioned this.
The health spa is rather dated and the heated indoor pool was out of order the whole week we were there which was disappointing.
Thomas Cook reps very good.
Enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't return.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 4th floor are renovated. Our room only had a partial sea view. Request one with a full sea view (ie room 440)

Generally good impression, excellent service, but one intrusive receptionist cheated us with money-changing. We were there in mid-December, a lot colder than expected, but had a brilliant trip south to the desert. Food was excellent, as was the Tunisian wine. Evening entertainments were non-existent (maybe because of the season) but judging by some comments this may well have been an advantage! Refreshing absence of tacky Christmas hype!

Room Tip: Go for top floors and sea-view. Not worth it otherwise.

We just come back from 2week in the amazing Marhaba beach hotel honestly don’t know where to start from, its all so nice clean tidy the reception staff was very welcoming helpful and respectful at any time and with no matter what was the request they advice, tip, suggest, help as much as they could.
There was three bars reception, salon bar, beach bar, and one snack bar and you can drink and eat at any time you are there, the staff was very smiley and nice to us and we keep asking for different drinks one after the other beer vodka jinn whiskey different cocktails or non alcoholic drinks hot or cold,by the end of the first week we knew all the staff names chokri, habib, wali, sofien, Mohamed.Amin who looks after all the bar staff was always smiley and checking if everything is ok ,we tried the chicha in the Moorish cafe place its very traditional place and atmosphere with special drinks and different chicha flavour, the most funny dances and jokes was made by alibaba who looks after the place.
The beach bar was also open till 5pm when you can eat and drink and they do amazing pizza and pancake and diversity of sandwiches and salads they even have a lunch buffet which is really good variety ; food, salads, barbecue ,desert ,fruit and ice cream. The beach was really clean and loaded of umbrellas and sun beds and chairs all around and there were two mans responsible of it and there offered help and suggest you a umbrella that u can keep for all your holiday
The place closes same time as bar around five afternoon but access is allowed any time and security always around to guarantee safety and help if needed, the wood way down to the sea make the walk easy and comfortable as the sand was very hot at some point of the day
The swimming pool wasn’t very big but nice clean and tidy Steve the skinny man who look after the pool was really helpful and smiley and present from 6 in the morning till 5 in evening when the pool shuts, sun beds chairs and umbrellas was available all day long then at 5 few waiter comes around and change the place to tables and sits ready for the night show.
The main restaurant was by the reception on the way to the lift...the food was nice hot or cold as you want, variety of salads , vegetables , breads , pizza, burgers, beef, lamb, chicken ,fish, pasta ,rice, soup, chips, frites, grill, cakes ,pastries, ice cream, fresh fruit, and of Corse juices and wine as you want and wish ...they have even one special night where you can discover most of the Tunisian special dish couscous and lots of nice food not spicy that I can’t name ....
In the second week the hotel organise a dinner around the pool and it was just brilliant ,fantastic ,amazing , full of surprises animated by a piano man and a solo guitarist in the opposite side where they sing one by one then so many shows like dances and magician and other
The hotel marhaba beach is fantastic and the animation team make it million time better : fifi , jo , laska, kaled, chicho and choko they are there day and night smiley happy active ready to do lots and lots of activity in the pool or around the beach like stretching , French bolls , mini golf , water polo ,aqua gym ,darts, Arabic lesson, archery, football, volley ball, they start early in the morning and finish late in the night work really hard and honestly without them around it would be boring hotel ,every night they come up with new different show : Indian show ,evening games , mister or miss marhaba beach, karaoke ,Tunisian night with belly dancer show and special dance with jar and chairs up in his mouth ,changing ladies and quiz night.
Just one more thing we been in so many hotel in so different country the only place where we felt so comfortable and really welcome all the time was the MARHABA BEACH HOTEL where will definitely go again and again and again and we wish you to go and see by yourself we give 20/10 as score
Dj and laura with love
