I can't harbour any complaints with our stay here. Nako is very friendly, approachable and provided us with very helpful insight (and a much needed cold beer) on arrival. The location is close to the harbour which is cheaper and more relaxing compared to the crowded old town. There are buses to the Old Town but walking is doable in about 20-25 minutes mainly downhill. The walk back can be intense so we tended to get taxis back from Old Town after a night out. The atmosphere is friendly but not for the party crowds I suspect. Overall, very impressed and can't thank Nako and family enough for their assistance and hospitality.

Stayed here for two nights and had a great time. Nako was an incredible host, nothing was too much trouble. All the advice he offered on where to go and what to do was fantastic. It's a bit of a walk to the old town, but there are some really good bakeries (open 24 hours) to pick up some breakfast on the way in. There are also some nice bars down at the harbour.
The room was clean and comfortable, our only issue was the lack of a/c, which meant it was stiflingly hot. However, true to form, Nako found us a fan for the second night, which was a life saver, and even gave us a lift to our next location. Cheers, Nako!

A friend and I stayed here for two nights whilst we were in Dubrovnik. We really liked Red Dwarf Guesthouse - the proprietor was unfailingly helpful, welcoming and accommodating, whilst the private room we shared was clean, comfortable and came with towels and water. Would happily stay there again and would recommend to anyone looking for an easy and nice place to stay. There were families, couples and groups of friends all staying there whilst we were there, so I think they cater well for everyone, whilst the free-wifi was an added bonus. One word of warning though... steps!! The guesthouse is set back into the hill above the new-harbour, and so you have a long, uphill walk back from the old-town or harbour when you've been out, up a few of Dubrovnik's many winding staircases. Thankfully, there's plenty of cold, free water when you get home!

We only booked three nights here but ended up extending our stay to a whole week! Nako is the most welcoming host you could imagine, he really takes you in as part of the family and on our last night he even brought us a bottle of wine and beer! The guest house is modestly basic and suited all our needs. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and each room comes with a fan which was a total god-send! Nako gave us a map upon arrival and circled all the beaches and bus routes, as well as have brilliant tips on things to see and places to go! A lot of people on trip advisor have complained about the number of steps to the guest house, but there main road that the guest house is located on runs step-free all the way to old town! This little gem I would recommend to anyone looking for simple, laid back and affordable accommodation. We were so pleased to be away from the prices and overbearing tourists in the old town, and we were close to the main bus station for airport transfers and bus routes to Montenegro and Bosnia! 10/10!

We've just had a 5 night stay at red dwarf and couldn't recommend it higher! As soon as we arrived Nako and his family were so welcoming and sat us down with a cold drink and recommendations of things to do and good places to eat!

The hostel was very clean and peaceful with the most comfy bed we've had in our 2 month travels, about a 20 min walk from the old town and 5-10 mins from the harbour where you can book excursions! We did some day trips which had a early start and out host Nako was there to help at every point even getting out of bed at 06,30 Am to drive us down to the harbour to make sure we arrived safely on our excursion.

I would definitely recommend and return to red dwarf!
