This was one of the places included in the whaling museum admission. Guide there was very informative. We spent about 45 minutes there. Highly recommend!

The Old Mill is on just on the outskirts of the town of Nantucket. It is on a small hill along a fairly busy road. It's a stop that every tour bus makes but the town has not considered the tourist. There are no steps to the entrance of the windmill. Tourists must climb an eroded dirt path. Returning the hill end abruptly along the busy road. On our trip, an elderly woman being helped down to even ground stumbled and was nearly hit by an oncoming car. The Town of Nantucket needs to address this problem.

This mill is still a working mill. Amazing history on its operations past and present. Enjoy the views and tour.

This was the second operating mill we visited while on the Cape. The first was the Grist Mill in Sandwich. This mill operates in much the same way with the hoppers, grinding wheels and gears. The old mill is picturesque. We rode our bikes up to this point just to visit. It was definitely worth it. Beautiful stop with a great history.

We went to the whaling museum and the admission also got us a tour here. Our tour guide was so informative and explained how the mill worked. He got the young kids involved by pulling ropes and he was very interactive. The day we were there, the mill wasn't working. But it was still very cool.
