I stayed at the Warren for a weekend conference this summer, and have mixed feelings for it. Fair warning, this review is mostly about accommodating for accessibility. Let me start with the inn. The pros. First off, the beds are surprisingly comfortable, but are by no means a Marriott. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I required a wheelchair accessible room in the inn, as the cabins where the other conference attendees stayed were not able to meet my needs, but we'll get to that. The staff was very relaxed and accommodating to these needs, as well as any specific requests for the conference, along with the other booking and financial needs of the function. I would have loved to get the camp experience, but I really didn't mind my own room. It was closer to electronics of course and some of the resort amenities. It was also easier to access the conference space when breakout sessions were happening. It was nice to have a room so close to retreat to during the activities. I really liked how wheelchair accessible the inn was, with the spacious room and an elevator to access the other levels of the building.

The cons were fairly scarce. To begin, I wasn't really sure about just how limited the accessible rooms are, and how that could have been accommodated had the other attendees needed them. And the level of accessibility that worked for me might not be so convenient for someone else. The shower consisted of a bath tub with a folding chair inside, rather than an actual shower bench. This might not be terribly safe for those with more limited mobility. The last evident con for me was just how much of a hike the inn is from the cabins, the dining hall, and other activities in the area. The paths to get from place to place aren't always terribly friendly to mobility devices.

Next, I want to focus on the cabins. First, the good things. The Warren cabins are set in the middle of an expanse of beautiful outdoor scenery. Some don't go for this type of vacationing, but the feel of being at camp is very appealing to others. It is a quiet and peaceful getaway. There are some aspects of this that were not so appealing for this particular demographic and these feelings might be shared for different reasons. If you're just being picky, maybe this isn't the place for you. To start off with the not so great parts of the cabins, with the feedback from attendees, was the sheer discomfort of the cabin beds. Also, the sleeping arrangements for people with medical needs who are not accustomed to camp setting can be quite awkward. The cabins are not the cleanest setting for those with special medical needs trying to escape the insects insects and dirt to account for sterile technique. The accessibility to the cabins is extremely limited, with only one semi-accessible cabin. In cabin 1, there is a ramp. However, it is up a steep and bumpy hill on the other side from a simple stair access. Once inside, there is limited space for people, medical fridges (which are provided, so that is a bonus) and mobility devices. There are no accessible showers on top of it all. The overflow from the accessible cabin, in order to access space in the other cabins, must access a side door down a steep hill and through a bathroom. Finally, the cabins are so far down or up a sketchy hill from the inn, activities, and dining hall. This is a barrier for those who can't easily propel themselves from place to place. This also limits interaction with the staff a lot of the time, should attendees need anything.

Lastly, I'd like to focus on both sides of the miscellaneous things about the Warren that I observed. Though I didn't see it all, there is so much space in the area with so much to do in a beautiful setting. There is so much potential to have a number of functions here. This can be an issue when two different functions from two demographics are both there at once. The two can interfere and cause confusion amongst attendees. The wide space and rough terrain are a barrier, but the convenience of golf carts helps relieve that stress. Depending on what is happening there at any given time, the availability of such luxuries can vary. The staff is very accommodating and understanding in this though. It just sometimes ends up being a hassle that some of the activities are so staff dependent, which depends on their availability. They ere also understanding as far as accommodation of dietary needs and other medical requests. Believe me, there is not shortage of food here. Once you are able to find a way to get to it in pretty spread out and inaccessible areas, that is. The Warren is quite a ways out from anything in "civilization," which is great for the touristy "glamping" ambience. This is also a barrier for the particular conference I attended where there was no immediate medical staff provided.

Overall, the Warren was very accommodating and met the needs of our conference. There were some disadvantages to this venue, but we adapted and made things work as well as possible. I appreciate the effort that was put into making us feel welcome and at home.

Room Tip: Stay at the inn unless you don't need special accommodations or mind the camp feel.

Nice and scenic property specially when you experience quite a few inches of snowfall. The woods surrounding the property and the greenery adjacent to North Easter University is gorgeous. However the Inn in specific has no experience in hosting international guests. you should be prepared with their ignorance on power adapters or may be they'll put a de-humidifier on requesting actually a humidifier.

I stayed at Warren for about 2 weeks. It was a pleasant stay with very helpful people. Though lunch and dinner was not available (unless you are part of conference party and meals are pre-booked), they have arrangements in place to get it delivered in room from outside. Given a choice, I would gladly go back to the Inn. Internet connection is free, unlimited and super fast.

This facility can accommodate 100s for dinner and cocktails. They even have their own intimate hotel off the street. Guests don't have to travel to go from reception to motel. The grounds are fantastic...unlike golf courses with the 18th hole in the middle of your reception. A lot of privacy with tons of parking. Many location for wedding pictures. Food is great and staff are very professional in working with vendors.

I stay at the Warren Conference Center every year for a scrapbooking retreat. The service and the food has always been wonderful. I look forward to returning next month.
