After reading many hotel reviews for Panama City, I finally chose this hotel based on its facilities, free breakfast, location and price. As such, we were not disappointed.
The room was large and on the 10th floor, close to the rooftop bar and pool: The staff on reception and breakfast were a bit surly, with eye-rolling and sniggering observed. However; the barman on the rooftop was friendly and helpful. The view from the rooftop bar area was great in all directions.
The hotel arranged an excellent driver (Robert) to take us places on our first day, including Mirreflores, Causeway, PanAmercia Bridge; Cusco Viejo. We ended up hiring him directly on the second day too and he took us to Soberina National Park.
The hotel is located outside of the touristy areas so its possible to witness local life in the city: It is only a short walk to the sea where there's a paved path in both directions -great for exploring. Having said that, people have warned us not to walk aound the area late at night by ourselves and while it didn't feel too seedy, we heeded that advice.
The barman was very friendly and helpful and the ceasar salads we ate were fresh and tasty The free breakfast included hot options along with fruit, coffee and juice.
Not many negative things to say except the traffic noise was quite loud even on the 10th floor and the toilet didn't flush properly
