We were the first to be picked up, and learned there would be 4 additional guests in our vehicle. By the time everyone was in, we looked like a can of sardines and had to endure a 2 1/2 hour ride this way. The roads were described as "scenic with beautiful views and wildlife". Unfortunately the roads were filled with potholes and we swerved back and forth the entire way there and back.

Upon arrival we climbed into local boats and headed out. The ride there and back was rough due to the choppy water and those of us in the back row were soaked.

We never saw any snorkeling gear, so not sure why they say it's included.

Lunch was ok. The fish was good, but was cold and the salad was warm.

The islands themselves were beautiful and I am glad we were able to see three different islands.

Personally I don't think its worth the money but if you decide to go, take Dramamine!

Hi Karen,

Unfortunately the 2.5 hour car ride to San Blas can be quite tiring, especially during the last hour, where the road gets curvy. We assume you read the description of the tour, since you mention the "scenic, beautiful views" part of the drive. If you read further, we mention that the transportation is in a shared vehicle. We accept up to 6 passengers per vehicle.

Unfortunately, your tour was on one of busiest days of the year (Dec 29 and Dec 30 are extremely busy) and we apologize if you were not provided with snorkel gear, personalized service or warm food, which is how our tours normally operate. Our tour guides are all well trained to give personal attention to our guests and provide for their safety and enjoyment of the islands. Please accept our apologies if, during that busy day, our guides were focusing more on safety than on the personal aspect of the tour. The same is true for our chef, who is preparing fresh meals in a small island kitchen with basic means. Preparing a meal, on a busy day with over 50 people, can be a challenge and we ask for your understanding.

We hope you will be back to San Blas another less traveled time, so you can enjoy our tour as it normally operates.

Not for the timid, however best adventure you can have in a single day in Panama. Read up on Gunayala and make sure safe but long ROUGH car ride and ROUGH boat ride are okay for you. We hit 7 foot swells swells in the Atlantic and 10,000 potholes on the road to Carti. Take water. Take passport. Take small waterproof sea bag. Take camera. Have trip to remember forever.

First let me say this is an amazing day. If you can think of a desert island in your mind, that’s where you are going. Blue sky, bluer water, sandy beaches, palm trees, coconuts. It’s idyllic, it literally looks like paradise. If that sounds like your thing then you are in for a huge treat. Your friends will be jealous of your pictures for sure.
It’s a long day - pickup is in the 5am hour and it’s a good couple of hours drive too. You stop at a supermarket at 6am for any snacks, water etc. it’s also a good 30 minute boat ride across to the islands. Once there you’ll have an amazing time which brings me to the caveat.
If you have people in your group (kids, adults, whoever) who are prone to carsickness just be warned. Bring bags, take meds, whatever will get you through this. The road is very windy, steep up and down, and has lots of potholes. Sometimes the drive feels like a rollercoaster and the drivers drive like, well, Panamanians.
All that being said it’s well worth the trip. 100% would do it again. It’s just an amazing day and well worth it if you are visiting Panama City. Just prepare for the car ride.

Thank you for your sincere feedback. We constantly strive to improve our tour in order to offer the best San blas day tour in Panama. We've been listening to our guests and have made quite a few changes to make this day unforgettable. We are so happy you enjoyed your tour and it always gives us pleasure when our guests collect beautiful memories.

Regarding your caveat. Yes, unfortunately the last hour of the trip to San Blas is steep and windy. While our drivers are very experienced and drive safely, it can be a bit daunting being a passenger when approaching an unknown corner in the road at a rapid pace. We will work with our drivers to ensure they will drive slower during that part of the journey to the port to make this one hour segment more enjoyable.

We hope you will be back again soon and wish you Happy Holidays :)

It's best to visit max 3 islands in one day. It's very chill. The natural pool is the best part and the must see

Great trip and totally worth it. You get three islands, a sandbar, lunch and pick up/drop you off at your hotel downtown. After reading reviews of several companies I was worried about the drive and the food. We went with this company because of their description and the few reviews they had.
A few things about San Blas trips in general- the road there is bumpy due to potholes and the boats can be bumpy as well. Our driver knew the roads very well so he wiggled around the many potholes and slowed w-a-y down for the unavoidable potholes. Over the mountain was like a roller coaster, which I like, so I thought the drive was fun. In order to get over the mountain in a reasonable time frame they have to drive quickly so all companies will have a bumpy journey. We actually got passed by a few SUVs so despite our seemingly quick pace others were going even faster (and I assume a bumpier ride). We were dropped off and it wasn’t super clear where we needed to be and as the day went I realized a very important point - your guides for the day have a system from getting you to place to place and you won’t know what it is, but it is efficient and they have it down pat. Just relax and hop into the boat they point to and enjoy the ride. They take you to beautiful islands and watch over your stuff while you play in the water with the provided snorkel gear. We switched between people and boats and the guides don’t engage much (but we only speak English), but are friendly and helpful. The stop for the food was like an outdoor, covered picnic area - it was basic, but clean. The rice and coleslaw were ok, but the fish was great.
All in all I’m glad we did it, I recommend it and would do it again.
