Beautiful by day and even prettier by night. Doesn't seem to have tours anymore so I'm not sure what is inside. But it's a fabulous place to look at and study. Said to have been built on a former monestery. The dome is particularly interesting

It was interesting to learn that, not for the first time, in olden days the site was the location of a monastery. Works on the terrific present building began in the late 1800s and it was completed in 1900.

With a glass and metallic dome at the central apex and double columns at the entrance. It all makes for superbly embellished design features.

We saw it in daylight and illuminated after sun down. It looks fabulous in all light.

When you cross Victoriei Blvd. you have to visit one of the oldiest buidings of Bucharest. It is very nice and you have to see.

This is a beautiful impressive building which houses the CEC bank and well worth a walk by. We were told that they did small guided tours of the inside but when we tried to go inside we were told that the tours had been "cancelled forever!"

Turn of the century building (19th to 20th) - I especially like the metal and glass dome (a nod to the Grand Palais of Paris from the french architect, perhaps).
