My wife and I stayed at HOTEL EPOCH for two days at the end of May.
The hotel is at the end of a cul-de-sac on a quiet street and walking distance (around the corner) from a pleasant park. It is also four or five blocks from an excellent Spanish restaurant, which the hotel's bellman recommended.
Our room was immaculate and nicely situated on the third floor, looking out over the peaceful entrance way in the front. It was well-appointed, with a comfortable bed that made for restful sleeping. The bathroom had two sinks and a shower with strong water pressure. There was a small room, or vestibule inside the door that provided a place to read or watch television that was apart from the bedroom--making the room sort of a mini-suite. In other words, it was all you would want or need as far as accommodations.
However, what was memorable about HOTEL EPOCH was the customer service. The bellman was a competent concierge as well. He recommended restaurants and made dinner reservations, where the food turned out to be excellent (the nearby Spanish restaurant and an exceptional sea food establishment with the freshest of fish). He answered all our questions in excellent English and facilitated our relations with the front desk as well. Unfortunately, I forget his name, but his excellent service will be remembered.
I heartily recommend HOTEL EPOCH as a pleasant place to stay in Bucharest.More
