This apartment gets my absolute highest recommendation.
We were a bit nervous bookings, since there were no prior reviews, but are so glad we took the chance.
The apartment is spacious, well laid out, very lean and in fabulous shape. The owner was very easy to work with and nice and his mother, who lives upstairs, let us in and was available and extremely friendly if we had questions but otherwise totally unobtrusive.
Furnishings throughout were of a high quality, and did not feel like a vacation rental outfitted on the cheap at Ikea, as so many other places do.
Beds were comfortable. Lots of bedding and extra blankets were around if needed (we were plenty warm, even over Christmas). Each bedroom also had lots of storage space in nice big wardrobes.
There is now a bench in the front hall (where there is a piano in the listing photos), which was great for taking off shoes, etc. There is also a nice coat rack and house shoes if you want them.
The kitchen, open to the dining and living areas was very nicely stocked and I really appreciated having both gas and electric burners for the stove. Being there over Christmas we cooked quite a bit and never wanted for anything.
The sofa was comfortable and provided plenty of space for 4 adults. Both the stereo and TV worked well and we used both quite a bit (bonus--in addition to the English language channels on the satellite, Croation channels often show US based shows in original English with subtitles, so we had many choices).
The location was nice being only an easy 15 minutes drive to the heart of Zagreb, and about 5 minutes from a large grocery store and several places to eat in the little subdivision (we recommend Paprika) as well as as short walk from a bakery and a kiosk.
Wi-fi was fast and reliable.
All in all, we had a wonderful week and the top notch apartment was a big reason why. We would absolutely stay here again.
One minor note--we struggled to find it after dark the first night---this is largely because we did not know how homes are numbered in Croatia and kept thinking we were in the wrong section of the street. The house, #8, is directly across the street from number 51--so if you rent it and are passing homes in the 40s do no think you have gone too far and turn around as we did!
