This hotel is five minutes walk from the old town, overlooking the river and the valley where the city sits. It is perched on a hillside and built into the rock, so that some rooms face the rock and have no natural light. Fortunately, my room had excellent views of the city and hills. It was quite basic, sparsely furnished, with a comfortable bed, although the sheet/quilt arrangement was confusing. There was a tub bath with hand held shower.
The hotel offers a copious breakfast buffet in a sunny dining room with lovely views. The staff were helpful. This is not a luxury hotel, but it has an interesting history and has a traditional character. More
