This property claims to be a 5 star hotel, but we don't get it. We found the lobby, reception area and hallways to be dark and depressing. The wonderful description of the hotel on their website is full of poetic license. Our room had a broken thermostat, a broken hanger in the bathroom and one of the single beds was in the middle of the room when we arrived. We visited the indoor pool and spa area, but there was no staff to be found so we left. We found the overall quality of the food at both the breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet prepared for our tour group to be poor. We also agree with other reviewers who have said the staff seems indifferent.

The hotel turned to be fresh and modern, with spacious rooms and bathrooms. It worths the money paid. The hotel is on ‘demarcation line’ between old (Eastern) town and its modern (European) part.
All the city’s major points of interest can be reached on foot. What really did upset us - breakfast quality.

Our Gate One tour group stayed here for one night ( wish we could have stayed longer). Hotel is directly next to 1500 ruins and old town. Very modern decor, a bit of a challenge trying to figure our how to turn lights off ( next to bed platform) . Large breakfast offerings, comfortable beds.

We stayed here for 4 nights and thought the location was perfect. It is a large, luxury hotel with a classy restaurant and bar attached. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and we loved the breakfasts - a big variety of cooked food, cold meats, cakes, etc. There is an indoor pool which we didn't use.
The hotel is located in the old town with some great bars and restaurants on it's doorstep.
As some other reviews have testified however, it's not really 5 star. Some parts need more attention to detail, no complimentary water in the room and the staff mostly appear indifferent. Still, it's good value, especially by Western European standards.
There are quite a few hotels in Sarajevo now, and while I can recommend this one, I'm sure others offer a good standard at reasonable rates.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had an excellent dinner in the Viennese cafe. Although we were in the bar area the table was laid for us with a tablecloth etc. All the food was good but the fish in particular is worth comment. The fish soup was delicious (but very big if chosen as a starter) and the John Dory was so fresh. A very pleasant experience
