It's a good hotel in a good location, next to a nice park and very near the island of tears. It's a soviet era place but had been redone and is quite comfortable , the rooms are clean and I have to say housekeeping were amongst the fastest and most efficient I have experienced anywhere in the world. There are also some great views from the higher floors.
Breakfast was varied and extensive although it could get busy but everything was well replenished, usefully there is also a gift shop (9 roubles for 0.5l of vodka) and a pharmacy and currency exchange. Reception were very helpful and spoke good English. Overall very good and an easy landmark to navigate by as the hotel is very tall, about 15 min walk from the upper town.More
