I have travelled on the Coral Coast Railway twice - once a few years back and the second time last year on our honeymoon. Both times have been simply fabulous.
The first trip we went past Christopher Skases's derelict resort and then walked underground exploring some caves - our guide this time was Papa and although it was years ago I can still remember what a wonderful man he was. Full of life and laughter - his knowledge was amazing and he really made the day.
For our honeymoon we went in to Sigatoka (great shopping!)which was also lovely. We visited a kindergarten and a couple of villages which was wonderful as we really got to understand the Fijian way of life. The families that opened their villages to us were very generous and we felt very lucky to experience their way of life.
All in all, the Coral Coast Railway is a fabulous way to take in Fiji life and culture and I would highly recommend taking the trip!
