Me and my high school sweet heart celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Fiji Inti with a six night stay in late May 2018. We are Platinum Ambassadors and were upgraded to a suite with plunge pool. We wanted privacy, relaxation and indulgence and were not disappointed. We didn’t leave the resort during our stay. We took full advantage of the club lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea and sunset cocktails. Most enjoyable. All resort staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially those in the club lounge. We were most moved when the club lounge staff sang the farewell song Isa Lei to us on our last night. We have decided to return as soon as we can.

We had just escaped from 5 nights at a Luxury Resort on a small Island which was HORRIFIC so we were concerned as to how the Hotel would be.
It was a luxury resort. Just perfect.
We stayed in a Club Room with access to the Club Lounge.
Our room which was enormous! It even had an Outdoor Bath Tub :)
We took a Golf Cart Tour of the grounds. The Grounds are Magnificent!
Back to the Club Lounge for Canapes & Drinks. Pre Dinner Drinks as always are delicious!
For lunch, you can even have a Complimentary bowl of soup in the Club Lounge.
The Bula Bus drove a continuous circuit around the Resort or you could ring for a Golf Buggy.
Spa is perfect and I enjoyed a lovely Massage & Facial. The Spa Facilities are top class.
There is an Adults only pool to escape the dreaded Swim Nappies!

The Intercontinental is perfect for people that like all their luxuries and being doted upon by attentive staff. It's pretty faultless in that respect. It's definitely not an authentic Fijian experience and if you want that don't come here go to the Yatule Resort and Spa next door which has far a more relaxed feel and clientele. Or go hang with the locals on the beach (that everyone here seems to moan about) They are so funny to talk with and actually did a great job of my daughters hair braiding for a discounted price. Plus everyone loved riding the horses.
So we had a room at The Intercontinental (Club 2 bedroom suite) and family staying at Yatule so we had the best of both worlds.
Pros:
Kids Pool: Amazing, Clean.Huge. Activities like Crab racing running next to the pool every day was genius too as got kids out of pool and into shade and had free ice cream if you pick a winner. Never felt busy in pool as so huge. Love the big day beds as our 3 year old could have her daytime sleep while Miss 8 kept swimming all day.

Buffet Breakfast: One of the best I've seen in Fiji. Everything you want. Fresh juice was amazing. Staff knew all my coffee orders and my coffee was always at my table even when I hadn't requested it. Best service ever. They even found me items off the menu when I requested salmon and cream cheese one day. The extra distance the staff go makes you feel truly valued.

The Staff: Wow. Truly fantastic. Really genuinely interested and helpful. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day. The porters in the lobby always met us with a huge welcome and made such a fuss every time we passed them it was actually very sweet.

Buggy Drivers: Awesome service. Very funny. I hated taking buggys as liked the walks everywhere but these guys always made it fun.

Room: HUGE. So huge my bratty kids refused to sleep in their bedroom which was quite a way away from our room so the staff made up a special bed for them in our room. Absolutely nothing was too much for anyone here. Best service ever.

Kids Club Crew: Awesome. Knew my daughters names off by heart by Day 1. In fact everyone knew our names or were interested in getting to know us.

CONS:
I don't really have any. We wouldn't usually choose to stay at a place like this as the clientele tend to be a little uptight and rude to staff at times but I was working and put up here and so value the experience we got to have here.

The Kids Club could have been more centralised so kids could all meet in a central place before going off. Because it's kind of isolated from the pools kids would find themselves alone there and my 9 year old hated it.
Also note: All Nanny's should have a Cell Phone they can be reached on.The hotel is so huge its very easy to lose track of where everyone is and a cell phone would have solved that. In saying that my husband thinks I need to relax more. Plus my daughter loved her Nanny Aggie.

I find it hard to read comments moaning about this resort. If you actually do your research you will know it's expensive. YES That's why its called 5 Star. Don't go here if you are on a budget.Go to Yatule next door.
Highly recommend if you do want the best though. Next time if I ever go back I would go Beachfront Rooms. Nothing beats that beautiful beach.
Vinaka to everyone at The Intercontinental for giving us a really memorable, beautiful holiday.
Nicole, Tom and kids

Room Tip: Club Suites are Far from Beach and Kids Pool. BUT they have Buggys or a Bula Bus that pick you up OR you can enjoy the walk.

The Intercontinental hasn’t disappointed me yet. Always beautiful and the best location on the beach. Very pleasant staff always taking it a step above the rest. Upgraded to a suite beach front room. Amazing food at the Adult Only restaurants after 7:30pm. Family pool & Adult only pool. Something for everyone
Snorkeling right off the beach. The tide goes out around 10am and stays out til ~ 4pm. Discover and walk across the water to the beautiful rock formations

Such a relaxing environment amid beautiful gardens. It’s a huge resort. Take the map with you & use the Club Carts to get around if you don’t feel like walking.
I stayed at the Club part. Club lounge, infinity pool, breakfast, High Tea and 2 hours of canapés and cocktails every evening. So worth paying the extra in my opinion.
Great balconies and the signature Cleopatra bath. Such a treat.
June temperatures were 28 degrees and 23 overnight.
Enjoyable Fijian drumming show one evening as well as other activities outlined in a weekly programme that comes out every Sunday night.
Friendly staff who went out of their way to make me feel welcome.
Fantastic spa experience as well as a facial / massage in a cabana on the beach. Idyllic.
I can totally recommend this resort in every respect.
