Three stars?!?! Really?!?! I can not believe that they charged me what they did for such a horrible experience. The lobby is lovely, and the grounds in the main building seem to be maintained well. When they walked us to our room in a separate building, it was like we had stepped into another dimension. The outside looked like a prison, and when we opened our door the inside did as well. It smelled like the room hadn't been cleaned in years (you know that musky smell that happens when a room is unoccupied for a while.) It was probably 90 degrees in the room, and the smell was atrocious.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. The living room area was huge, but empty. it looked like the room had been empty the day before, and they just threw a couple small pieces of furniture inside. There was nothing on the walls, no color, no warmth. it literally felt like a jail cell.

And the rooms were worse. Just empty. Totally bare. The sheets were coming off the mattress and had stains on them (I slept fully dressed and put a T-shirt on the pillow.) I had to climb up on the bed to turn the AC on, and the fan was rotating in the wrong direction. There was also nothing in the bathrooms. Including towels. They forgot to give us towels!

The whole experiences seemed like the room was not actually in use, and they just opened it up to let us stay there one night. It was horrendous. The only good things were the free airport shuttle, and a few good restaurants nearby.

Spend a bit more to stay at the new nice hotel down the street.

Room Tip: Near Airport, but bring hand sanitizer.

Bula Mfalik,

Thank you for your review about your recent stay at the Hexagon International Hotel Villas & Spa.

We have noted your concerns regarding the two bedroom apartment you were booked in and we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in that apartment.

Our two bedroom apartments are one of the most popular rooms and receives mostly good reviews from our guests that stay in them. The room you stayed in did not have a view at the front entrance since it was facing another room wall on the opposite side of the corridor. However, like all the other rooms in the block, it had a balcony on the other side of the lounge area. The apartment you were in had been occupied days prior to your check in and we are sorry if you found the room smelling musky. All our apartments have 2 piece lounge set and a coffee table in the lounge area and a table for 6 people in the dining area. This set up may have been too sparing for your liking. The apartments are fully furnished with one queen bed in the master bedroom with a study table and the second bedroom has 2 single beds. Both the bedrooms are fully air-conditioned. The apartment has full cooking facilities with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster with cutleries set up for 4 paxs. Full laundry facilities including washing machine and dryer is also provided. Other basics such as iron and ironing board, TV, alarm clocks, hair dryers are all provided.

All your concerns regarding the linen in the rooms has been noted and measures are being taken to address these.

During your date of travel and till this Monday, the Hotel had been running high occupancy in all rooms including these 2 bedroom apartments as we had a wedding group in-house as well. We would have surely attended to you if any of these concerns were brought to our attention as we would want our guests to be happy during their stay here.

We do apologize for not meeting your expectations.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us on this visit.

Many thanks,
Luisa Wakaya

We always stay in the 2 Bedroom Apartments and for a family these are great . Apartment is well equipped for an extended stay with kitchen, washer & Dryer and 2 bathrooms. Great Location with supermarket, restaurants and movies next door. Handy to local bus into town. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Arrived ascend greeted great. Given keys and I am on my way. The rooms are not well signed so if there is no concierge to help you either get lost in the maze or wait. I asked reception and got basic instructions but after three searches I had to return and wait. The guy who helped me he even had to check where to go. LOL. The room is dated, the plane noise is reasonable but the rooms have air con, a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. There are stairs so if you have packed heavy or can't do stairs ask for a lower room. Hexagon is close to a lot of restaurants and 10 FJD drive to the airport. I got the room at a good price, if the same price was offered again I might return.

Bula SoloAus,

Thank you for your comment regarding your recent stay at the Hexagon International Hotel Villas & Spa. We are sorry about not been given proper directions to you room.

It is our policy to request that guests wait for the Porter to direct them to their rooms as it can be quite confusing to find rooms in a large property like ours. If guests insist then they are given directions to their rooms however, we still prefer that they wait for the Porter.

We have noted your concerns regarding the outdated rooms.Measures are being taken to address this issue.

We thank you for choosing to stay with us on this visit and we hope to see you again soon.

The hotel is well located between the city and the airport. We were in the older area of the hotel but our room had insect screens, overhead fan and air conditioning and was clean and well maintained. Service from all staff was unfailingly helpful and friendly.
