Recoleta is off the tourist map, located in the Palermo area. On the day we were there it was draped with Uruguayan flags in preparation of an important classification match for the "Celeste".

A friend recommended the Brotola, but failed to mention it is served coated in mozzarella cheese. Nevertheless, I found it quite tasty. We also had the Mediterranean salad, which was incredibly fresh and crispy. For dessert we had excellent ice cream. All in all a satisfying lunch.

Ate here during lunch and dinner. The food was very good and they have a surprisingly large menu selection. Their specials are good, and we found the items from the parrilla to be very well prepared. Servers are friendly and helpful.

I went alone for dinner the other night. The place looked good from the outside but once seated had the standard pizza/parrilla menu: a bit of everything.

The food was most average, the French fries frozen and tasted like they had been sitting.

Service was delivery with no interest, the servers could barely tear themselves away from their conversations with each other.

The chivito was standard fare.

On the whole, not worth a trip unless you happen to be there.

The pizzas and sides were tasty and fresh and the service was excellent. They have wifi and there's a nice ambiance in the restaurant.
We ordered chaja (meringue, cream, sponge and fruit) a local speciality in Montevideo and it was so disappointing, it was a prepackes ready meal style thing and came out wrapped in paper like a cheap icecream and been half frozen so the cream was separated and it was basically inedible, no fruit or fresh cream. They should really make desserts locally - especially as it was more expensive as a lunch main.
