We were scheduled to stay at Hostal Sauce, but because of road closures and trains being cancelled due to the protests, we were not able to make it to Ollantaytambo. I was so sad to miss seeing Ollantaytambo and staying at Hostal Sauce. They were understanding and worked with us to cancel our reservation even though it was not within the week timeframe. They didn't give us any hassle and seemed equally sad that our trip was impacted and we were not able to go to the Sacred Valley.

Near to Ollantaytambo's Temple and near to the train station.
Simple place but good cost benefit relation.
The view is amazing.
From the room 12 you can wake up looking for the Ollantaytambo Sun Temple. It's amazing.
All best restaurants is really close to the hotel.
We love it!
Good shower, good breakfast, clean and comfortable.
We recommend it!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights to acclimatise for Cusco, to avoid altitude sickness. It was fantastic. The room was large, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, everything was immaculately clean, the staff were wonderfully helpful despite the language barrier. It gets chilly at night here in July & there were extra blankets & a heater in the room, which we were told were not provided in other hostels in the area. I really can't say enough positive things about it. This is definitely the best hostel in this town, we highly recommend it!

SAUCE Hostal is conveniently located in the center of town - 1 block from the square, only a few blocks from the ruins, across the street and next to some of the best restaurants in town. The staff was friendly although their were a few requests that had to be repeated when they forgot. The included breakfast buffet was good and made available at whatever time you requested. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and they had staff cleaning various parts of the hotel most of the day. The fire in the main room was nice on the cool winter evenings. We had a room with a great view of the ruins - room 13. I would stay here again.

Room tip: Room 13 (and a few others) had a nice view of the ruins. There is a bit of road noise from motorbikes until around 10pm or so.

This is a very simple hotel with smallish rooms. It is located right in the middle of town and has good facilities, including a nice breakfast buffet. No frills, but fine service.

Wonderful views fro our room. Good bathroom. Large open first floor area with places to sit and read.
