We stayed here for 3 nights to acclimatise for Cusco, to avoid altitude sickness. It was fantastic. The room was large, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, everything was immaculately clean, the staff were wonderfully helpful despite the language barrier. It gets chilly at night here in July & there were extra blankets & a heater in the room, which we were told were not provided in other hostels in the area. I really can't say enough positive things about it. This is definitely the best hostel in this town, we highly recommend it!

SAUCE Hostal is conveniently located in the center of town - 1 block from the square, only a few blocks from the ruins, across the street and next to some of the best restaurants in town. The staff was friendly although their were a few requests that had to be repeated when they forgot. The included breakfast buffet was good and made available at whatever time you requested. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and they had staff cleaning various parts of the hotel most of the day. The fire in the main room was nice on the cool winter evenings. We had a room with a great view of the ruins - room 13. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 13 (and a few others) had a nice view of the ruins. There is a bit of road noise from motorbikes until around 10pm or so.

This is a very simple hotel with smallish rooms. It is located right in the middle of town and has good facilities, including a nice breakfast buffet. No frills, but fine service.

Wonderful views fro our room. Good bathroom. Large open first floor area with places to sit and read.

Hostal Sauce has a great location for picking up the early morning train to Aguas Calientes, it's only a short downhill walk to the station. As we were checking out very early the hostal gave us breakfast boxes to enjoy on the train, it was small but very welcome and unexpected. We loved the room with it's views over the roof tops to the wonderful Inka ruins. It was very comfortable and we'd definitely choice Hostal Sauce when next in Ollantaytambo.

Loved this little inn! The front desk staff was so friendly, spoke great English and was a delight to be around. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Bathroom was was very clean with hot water. The location was fantastic. Located in the heart of town with amazing view of the surrounding mountains and ruins. The inn is located just steps from the plaza and a short walk to the train station. Breakfast was a nice selection and plentiful. Wifi worked great! Wished I could have stayed more than two nights!
