We stayed in early October. Most hotels here and in Aguas Calientes are not set up to accommodate a family. We had to book two rooms because all available was either a single king (or what they call a "matrimonial" room) or a room with three twins. No adjoining rooms. Neither accommodate a family with kids.
The grounds are beautiful and a short walk from the train station, but the rooms are dated. The bathroom in particular was original condition and that didn't give me a feeling that it was clean.
No A/C as is typical here, but the room maintained a good temp without it.
The buffet breakfast was not great unless you are good with cereal. The hot items, although in a chaffing dish, were cold.
The staff was friendly and spoke good English.

The grounds at this hotel are so beautiful, I made sure to take several pictures. They even had a few pet llamas in the back! The shower and bathroom was very nice. We found a few bugs in our room, but I think that is probably common in a stand-alone building in a rural setting. We walked a short distance to the town center to get dinner; the town all seemed very safe. The best thing about this hotel is that it is a very short walk to the train station - easy to go to Machu Picchu after your stay.

So lovely and serene, this was an unexpected gem of a hotel. Very quiet even though it's in walking distance from the train to Machu Picchu. A few small places to eat down the street, plus a typical vendor market. The hotel restaurant is very nice, good food and good service. Decent breakfast buffet included, nothing huge but enough of what you need to get your day started right. Front desk staff very nice and helpful, speaking very good English. Decent sized room, so warm, clean and comfortable. A gorgeous sitting area of 2 huge rooms with comfortable couches and chairs with big windows overlooking the gorgeous property full of spectacular flowers. Wonderful experience, wish we had more time to enjoy this beautiful place!

The best feature about the place is the garden. Rooms and restaurant are quite old. There is evidence that they tried to decorate the place to give it a bit of Andean rustic charm. But it didn't quite make it. Quality of breakfast could also improve.

On a tour of South America, we stayed for one night before boarding the train to Machu Picchu.

More fool us! This delightful hotel located so conveniently close to the train station has an immediate positive impact, it's entranceway covered in flowers and greenery.

The room we had was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of the garden and the staff were attentive and polite.

We ordered food as we were too tired to go back out to eat and the quality and quantity was v good, especially for the price.

Breakfast is a typical buffet style affair and was more than adequate. Nothing to write home about but good for us and a decent selection.

In retrospect, just wished we'd been booked to stay here longer and would definitely recommend to others!
