“More amazing ruins on the Inca Trail”
Review of Sayacmarca

Reviewed 31 August 2015

Only the walls are left of these ruins but they are still pretty spectacular. It is mind boggling when you think about how and why these structures were built.

Just another great location on the trek, everyone in the group can't stop talking about the breathtaking views and snow capped mountains. The guides allow you to rest and take in all the sites before gentle encouraging us to move onto the next stunning location

Sayacmarca is just a short climb up a flight of steps from the Inca Trail. When I was there a few people could not be bothered - that was their loss since it is quite an extensive set of buildings which probably served as a store house, a garrison and a tambo (resting place).

According to our guide, this is an Inca warehouse. Like others posted prior, we were quite tired but we went up anyway and the view was worth it! We got lucky that the rain stopped when we got there.
