Good for: Local cuisine
Dining options: Breakfast, Reservations
Neighbourhood: Barranco
Description: Legendary cevicheria, football sanctuary in the heart of Barranco, familiar spot, delicaies factory, unforgeatable feasts and eternal toasts scenary. Much more than a cevocheria, a place of pilgrimage in the most bohemian neighbourhood of Lima.

Considering that it was more like a canteen and rather rustic, prices were on the high side although portions were quite generous. Sadly service was so so and it was embarrassing when the waiter asked for tips! Left a bit of a bad taste on departing. Maybe we should have given a tip but service wasn’t brilliant.

This place is so popular there are regularly queues outside. No problem though you just take a numbered ticket, buy a drink from the kiosk over the road and wait to be called. Inside is a great atmosphere and eclectic mix of memorabilia decorating the walls. The menu is simple but extensive and catered well for a range of dietary needs and tastes in our party. Delicious food and a great experience.

Really loved the vibe and delicious ceviche at this spot in Barranco. We chose the pescado ceviche and it was super fresh, delicious and well priced.

We had fabulous ceviche at this restaurant in Barranco - would recommend the Mixto which combines the catch of the day and seafood. Casual and relaxed atmosphere full of historic photos and right across from the park, bridge of sighs and ocean overlook (Mirador). We also had the scallops with parmesan cheese. Plenty of food; reasonable prices!

I had a friend visiting from Chile and he asked for Peruvian ceviche we decided to take him to the iconic canta rana. We order the traditional Inka Cola and Pilsen beer to drink and to eat:
conchitas a la parmesana
ceviche de pescado
jalea mixta
We were not dissapointed, everything tasted really well.

Disclaimer: its a really crowded place, but its part of its charm it feels a little like a dive bar. The waiter was really nice but a little clumsy, he gave one of our glasses to the table next to us (we were 3 they were 2) and he gave them our appetizer first even though we ordered 10 minutes before them.

Definetely recommend if you wanna have the typical peruvian ceviche experience but dont go there if you are looking for a quiet or meticulous waiting service.
