My favorite hotels are charming, reflective of their environs, comfortable and clean. I also care about good beds and great coffee. If you share any of my preferences, Hotel Rumi Punku is a great choice for staying in Cusco. The rooms are large, and there's a lovely courtyard. The breakfast was the best one I had in Peru--eggs to order, croissants and rolls, cut up fruit, and a variety of whole fruit including many that can be peeled.

The water pressure in the shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. It's about three blocks from the main plaza and quite near the arts district. It is important to note that Cusco is quite hilly, so the three blocks involves walking either up or down an incline.

Rumi Punku is cosy, welcoming and clean with incredibly professional and helpful staff who cannot be more accommodating. We spent a few nights here but could happily have stayed longer. Great location close to the old town of Cusco and lovely quaint rooms. Definitely a hit!

Stayed 4 night here and loved it. The location is great, and the rooms were very nice. The best thing in my mind is how accommodating the staff is. We left one morning at 3:30 for Machu Picchu and they packed all 12 of us a breakfast for the road. While we made a 3-night trek through the Andes they stored the bags we did not take. They even stored our bags when we went to the Skylodge (another recommended stay!) even though we were not staying another night here! We just returned, picked up our bags and they arranged transport to the airport. Just great.

We stayed for a total of 5 nights. We had 3 people and our room was spacious enough and clean. The beds are very warm and comfy and I looked forward to coming back after our trip to Machu Picchu. There and cute terraces and fountains to drink your tea/coffee. The only downside is that it is loud and you hear people walking around. Still, I would stay here again.

This charming hotel is located only a block or two off of the main square of Cuzco. The entry is an Inca door and many foundations are Incan.

The layout is a bit chaotic but we stayed in two rooms in two visits and both were very comfortable with great views. There are a couple of courtyards strewn with native plants and artifacts.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is charming and a good, cooked to order, breakfast is available.

There are quite a few stairs and no elevators so take that into consideration if you don't like climbing.
