We only stayed one night en route to Chile. Beatrice could not have been more helpful in sorting out bus tickets so we could spend all our time exploring. Location very close to main square and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Rooms clean and shower hot.

Not much good to say besides the location. Water was mildly hot (actually good for Peru), the rooms were chilly/noisy. Lacked the atmosphere of other hostels, probably due to small common areas. The computer in the common office is practically unusable (and we needed it for booking tickets to Machu Picchu).

Room Tip: Rooms on the inner yard are quieter, but a bit chilly.

Really can't say enough good things here. Beautiful hostel, super clean and safe, great rooms, adequate amount of toilets and showers, comfortable beds, wifi, communal areas and kitchen. Super friendly staff. The perfect downtown location. Nice balcony, perfect distance from the plaza de armas. On and on and on... highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights total, 2 nights before going to Cabanaconde and 2 nights when getting back. This was one of the cheapest places we stayed at in Peru, s/. 50-55 per night. The first 2 nights we stayed we were in a dorm room, but thought we had reserved a double room. The common toilets and showers were a bit sketchier than other places we stayed at. The last 2 nights we stayed, we got a private room with a private bathroom on the terrace which was better. The staff seemed very friendly. Communication was a bit of a barrier, they didn't know much English and our Spanish is pretty poor. Wifi was good. Although their website advertises free breakfast and lockers, there seemed to be confusion over whether we got breakfast and there are no lockers. We got breakfast (standard Peruvian style) during our first stay, but not during our second stay and I'm not entirely sure why. Not a big deal, we just went to the market and got our own bread and fruit. It was just more that it was advertised so we just expected it and didn't prepare otherwise. Overall, our stay was adequate. Not the best hostel, but it was cheap and the location was good.

I'm not really sure how this hotel stands as I am pretty sure it has been constructed entirely of chipboard.
The hostel is well located, but not too busy or loud at night. It is also pretty clean (slightly grimy floors) and the owners are friendly enough.
Breakfast isn't great, just some warm rolls and jam...sucks if you're gluten intolerant like me. But overall it's ok.
The rooms are very minimal, beds are hard but clean with plenty of blankets. Showers are warm, not hot...but ok. The floor of the shower is...you guessed it, chipboard, which is pretty grim.
Overall, I'm pretty sure better is available for the same price. I won't be staying here again on our return journey.

My name is Beatriz Suárez, I am owner of Misti House, I write this response because not understand how the material that is constructed part of our hostel can doubt "how it stands". What he sees wrong with us and that is something that no other guest complained, is the type of construction that he calls "chipboard" and here it is called "dry wall", and that is a material that is used just in most buildings in the country from which the guest is, within these walls all have within fiberglass acoustic and just make them nonflammable.

About the breakfast, the guest must inform us in advance about her intolerance to gluten, so being able to make a special breakfast for her, since it is not very common in guests, in any case it was her irresponsibility, not ours.

In addition, we have reception staff and housekeeping apart, so that each staff member is responsible for each area and this system has given us the possibility to have rooms, bathrooms and beds in perfect cleanliness and order.

The guest repeats that bothers the material with which is constructed our hostel, but I can't see how that could affect her stay here.
