We booked this hotel based on reviews from TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. We had an overnight flight to Lima and then a 6:30 a.m. arrival in Arequipa. As promised, the hotel had arranged for our pick up and the driver was there waiting for us at the airport. We booked a room for that night and were grateful for a lovely big comfortable king sized bed! The hotel is very centrally located and close to everything. The area is safe. The breakfasts were fantastic and we could order off a menu. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in the king size room on the 5th floor. It was great and very quiet.

The service is simply the best. From even before you get to the hotel, quick responses via email and free airport pickup) to a friendly front desk, amazing breakfast in the hotel to dinner reservations ... This place has top notch service. Not to mention, the location can't be beat. Rooms are clean.

Room Tip: Try their great breakfast

We stayed last September 2015 at Los Tambos and mark it as one of our
most wonderful hotel destinations. There for about a week it was incredible
the hospitality displayed at this hotel. Ruphal Cafe also for breakfast was amazing.

Los Tambos is a small hotel very well located from 2 blocks from the main square. You have a pharmacy in front of it and all over Arequipa you can get a taxi in 5 seconds. You won't need a taxi if you stay in this hotel anyway as this very close to the main attractions.

It doesn't present TV or air conditioning in the rooms but the temperature in our room was perfect anyway.

It has been so far the most clean hotel in Peru that we have been. You can't find a dusty spot anywhere (and I am very particular with cleaning)

What will impress you here is the customer services. From reception to breakfast (that by the way has a scramble eggs from haven) they are fully trained to give you a good experience. Speaking English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and probably more languages they will definitely be up to your expectations.

A big thank you to Los Tambos.

As usual, we followed TripAdvisor ratings and booked 2 nights in Los Tambos as our introduction not only to Arequipa but also to Peru itself. We were not disappointed!
This is not a 5* hotel, so if you're looking for thar luxury experience you're not going to find it here. What you will find instead is a great lodge with good fresh breakfast right next to the Plaza de Armas (main square), so you can basically walk to anywhere including going for dinner in any of the best restaurants of this city and the best part is we couldn't hear much from outside so perfect sleep time.
Ahh I also need to mention FLAWLESS service from every member of staff! In the reception, they even talk at least 4 different languages (Spanish, English, Portuguese and French).
The only thing I believe they could improve is to include air conditioning in the rooms as it can get a bit hot.
