“Couldn't believe the reviews....but they were true!”
Reviewed 5 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I can't remember a better stay anywhere! I've traveled Europe, Turkey, Canada and the USA and our stay here was unbelievably wonderful! Not only was the place wonderful Stu and his family were beyond any traveler's dreams! Warm, wonderful, and inviting! Great neighborhood with helpful locals up and down the street. Ideal location--in the historic district but removed a bit from the hub bub of the Parque Calderon area. We hope ot end up here again and eventually live in this neighborhood.

“Best International Rental ever”

My wife and I have lived outside the USA for 25 years. We have rented Vacation apartments in Vienna, Austria, La Spezia, Italy, Naples, Italy,Oradea, Romania, Sofia, Bulgaria and in London. This property in Cuenca, exceeded our every expectation. From the moment of arrival at the Cuenca airport until the moment we flew away, this was by far the best experience we ever had in rental property. Clean, well appointed, great, great, great, location, the view from the balcony was fantastic and only steps away from EVERYTHING.

The utilities worked, all the time. The internet was superb, I could continue to do necessary business from this property. I cannot think of anything that was needed that was not provided.

Thanks to Dano for a fantastic experience. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to any of my friends and family

“Extraordinary Rental”
Reviewed 17 November 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Great apartment. Central location, warm and welcoming hosts
in a very charming city. Numerous wonderful ethnic restaurants
within a block of the apartment. My wife and I spent the months of August
and September, 2014 here. We couldn’t have been happier. The
apartment is exactly as described and the photographs indicate. Apartment
comes well equipped, kitchen had all the utensils we needed. However, with
all the excellent restaurant options nearby you may find little use for the kitchen.
Thoroughly modern amenities that incorporate colonial touches and charm.
Light galore. Floor to ceiling windows front on a beautifully landscaped courtyard,
providing a great vantage point from which to watch the hummingbirds. There is little
to no need for public transportation or taxis.....just about everything is
within walking distance. Stu and Patricia are available when needed and
beyond accommodating. During our two month stay, guests came and went from
the other apartments (building is a four-plex). Some
were repeat visitors,
having so much enjoyed their previous stay here. We are already
anticipating our return visit -- which can’t happen soon enough.

“Beyond a great place to stay - It became home.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Staying at Stuart White's accommodations was more than a clean, highly functioning and comfortable stay. It was a living experience par excellence. Over the duration of our stay we stayed in two of the four high quality units, each with all the conveniences and a well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for walking to the center of town - Plaza del Calderon - and down to the river, the walking paths, Parque de la Madre, mercados and beyond. My husband is an artist -landscapes and townscapes - and found Cuenca ideal. We stayed for 7 weeks and felt each time we turned the key to the beautifully cared for courtyard that we were home. Each time new visitors came to stay we felt the family had expanded - whether we conversed or not. We like our privacy and yet, found ourselves enjoying the exchanges with fellow travelers. The undercurrent to the whole experience was Stu (and his family) who is one of the most genuine, generous and fascinating individuals we have ever had the pleasure to encounter. When my husband and I were reviewing the highlights of our 4 and a half month time in Ecuador, then Peru, he said, and I concurred, hands down - the top of the list was Stuart White. Stay here and you will have the opportunity to be enlightened in many ways.

Liked best: The location, the accommodations and most of all the host and his family
Liked least: There were evenings when the street outside was noisy because there are Kareoke Bars in the neighborhood.
