Two friends and I who reside in California wanted a sushi fix while in Santiago, and decided to visit Miyako based on Tripadvisor reviews. The good: the sushi was cheap (50% off), it was walking distance from our hotel, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. The bad: It was not worth the low quality of sushi or the stomach ache that ensued following our experience. We ordered nigiri, sushi rolls, maki rolls, miso soup, and udon. Unfortunately, the sushi rice was mushy, the rice to fish ratio had way more rice than fish, the miso soup had no flavor (we added soy sauce), and the udon had a raw egg yolk and when the soup was stirred, the yolk disappeared and blended into the broth. We acknowledge that our standard of sushi may be different as we are from Los Angeles and San Francisco, which both have very good sushi. However, if you are like us, and used to quality sushi, we do not recommend you visit.
