Arriving Santiago after ten amazing days of wonderful simplicity in Patagonia, it was a treat to stay at a centrally located hotel with an array of restaurants and cafes within a stone's throw. We stayed for two nights and loved the central location in snazzy (but slightly touristy) Bellavista, in the shadow of Cerro San Christobal. Clean rooms, nicely furnished with a mix of old and new, typical of Santiago, awesome shower, solid breakfast with a nice patio overlooking the plaza, very helpful staff. Very light sleepers might want to bring earplugs.
My trip was in Feb 2011.
