We enjoyed their lovely and delightful Buffet from The Square at Furama Riverfront. Asst. Manager Mr Philip Chua is knowledgeable, friendly and all about the professional service, offering the best deals transparently.
The staff he leads are also friendly, very capable and always eager to assist, offering sterling service to the diners. The food is fresh hot and although not a ridiculously wasteful selection, all the food choices are delectable and thoughtfully paired -- they even bothered to offer Japanese pearl rice for their Japanese themed buffet, soaking up the delicious salmon juices and the chili crab sauce if you decide to forego the fragrantly fried mantou buns.
There are also different ethnic themes offered daily, with intercontinental and thai choices, and more selections on other days of the week.
At 33.80/pax, you can take advantage now of the offer and receive a complimentary return-to-dine voucher for each diner at the table.
As for the cold seafood platter, the curated choices are salmon sashimi, spanner crabs, prawns and conchs; as the spanner crabs and conchs are seldom seen in majority of singapore buffets, it is, therefore, a nice change from the regular briney snow crab legs or overly diluted steamed clams of other typical buffets.
Altough portions are consciously bite sized and small, you are heartily encouraged to eat as much as you can, and they greet your umpteenth time back at the socially distanced queue lines with welcoming dispositions.
The lovely japanese styled cakes are served postage stamp-sized, and each is a good savouring-sized mouthful..... So, i probably ate enough postage to send a shoebox of satisfaction to China and back!
These cakes are lovingly prepped with flavours such as matcha+azuki pinwheel slices, cream cheese, taro+black sesame, matcha+cheese, and all the coffee and tea to keep you up all night for that Netflix Binge!
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the staff always ensured the soiled and used plates and the dining debris on them are swiftly cleared to give you an uncluttered eating space that will be welcoming you when you come back with a new freshly laden plate.
Thanks to the warm and welcoming staff, all the small anxieties of dining out amidst the covid are temporarily gone, as we feel most safe to relax and reacquaint ourselves with our "Old Normal" gastronomic joie de vivre!
As i leave, glancing at the freshly replenished display of tempura, that i had deprioritized for that shoebox of confection postage, i could only utter silently with the steely resolve of a Food-TargetingTerminator, the iconic words: " i 'll be back."
An all-round surprisingly satisfying weekday buffet expedition, i recommend you go try the Furama Riverfront's Buffet at The Square. And remember to say "hi" to Philip and the serving staff and chefs for me
