We spent 8 days in Boracay - staying in 3 different hotels (we spent a few days at the top of the island and the last 3 near white beach)

As it was the weekend, everything was fairly booked out so we settled for one night in a hotel up the road and 2 in Pinjalo. As soon as we checked in to the room, the horrible smell just hits you. The rooms are big and there is a balcony but the seats are all stained - as are the mattresses. The bed sheets and towels are worn and a dull grayish colour. There was mold in the bathroom. Paint coming off walls. There is NO WI-FI. Yes - you connect but it doesn't work. I couldn't even load a simple google page so went out to buy a sim with data. No room service either (which is fine, but it's always nice to have on holiday - especially when they don't provide you with basics like a kettle!). Also, be prepared to carry your luggage up and down stairs. The mattresses are foam pads - not comfortable. Provided a bar of soap and a shampoo satchet with a note stating if you wanted more - you had to buy it from reception. If this is how the hotel owners (apparently 2 Swedish brothers) treat and rip off their guests, I don't want to know how much they pay their staff who also look fed up to be there - everyone just looks depressed.

They are simply ripping people off. For the same price, we stayed in a much nicer hotel that was worth every penny. This would be a cheap b&b for about £25 a night in the UK. Not £90 in the Philippines!

I would not go back.

Located on the border of stations 2 and 3. The resort's main entrance is in front of a busy mini-street and vehicles can pick you up right in front of your hotel. At peak seasons, boracay is usually full of people, commissioners, vendors, etc. But once you enter the resort, you get calmed immediately, as the first thing youd see is a small wooden bridge. The noise suddenly disappears and all you hear is the wind and the bamboo treea swaying.

We stayed at Heliconia.

Pros:
The house is big, and very spacious.
There is wifi all over the resort (a bit slow most of the time though).
You can cook in the house. It has an oven, a burner, etc.
The ref/freezer was big.
Comes with free breakfast which you could avail til 12 noon! (Loved the pork tocino)
Good service by the front desk, kitchen/dining area peeps (OJT girl was good).

Cons:
The house is a bit old. If youre into
The shower thingy looks like an old telephone. If you use the hot water alone, youd feel the metal handle get really hot (of course).
The shower is glass enclosed. But there's no door. So if you held the shower head near that, youd get a very wet floor.
Small pool, limited seats/loungers. No restriction on smoking. I wanted to stay by the pool but another guest started smoking and so I left. I hope they enforce the no smoking law inside the resort.

Hi Brat,

Thank you for taking time to write a review and thank you for your compliment for the resort and staff. Calm environment inside of Pinjalo compound is one of the things that we maintain. In order for our guests to relax from the busy and noisy surroundings outside. With regards to the no smoking signage, we allow the guests to smoke at the garden area and pool side. Smoking inside the room/villas is strictly prohibited. However, I will forward your suggestion to the management for fast action.

Thank you and have a great day!

When you walk over the bridge after a hassle free check in, you enter a tropical infusion of well laid out native fauna.

This is a quaint and quiet retreat yet close to the beach ( about 2 mins) and close to night life in its central location of Station 2. This resort is popular for families and small groups as the accommodation styles vary from a STD room to a two bedroom villa that can sleep up to ten.

The pool is well kept and for those wanting to lounge on the beach, they can avail the use of the loungers (first come first served basis)at their sister resort a four minute walk away, called Nigi Nigi Noo Noos. A Boracay Icon in itself with an expansive menu and excellent live band. Pinjalo does have a simple restaurant which is more cafe styled.

The staff are warm and accommodating also and the resort is accessed easily with out having to walk at all.

Try it you’ll love it!

We booked the loft suite and stayed for 5 nights. The room was really nice and staffs was really helpful and friendly.Room facilities could have been better if they could provide a wardrobe for the lower unit and also to provide universal power point. Do bring along mosquitoes repellant as there is quite a lot mosquitoes specially after rain.Breakfast was average, The resort is just a few minutes walking distance to the beach and really near to convenience stores like 7-11. Located along a pretty busy pathway so its pretty safe to walk out. The resort also a sister property of the nigi nigi noose resort and restaurant, U can get a discount card from the resort and enjoy a 10% discount when u dine in there. The food was good and they've got life music band playing.Boracay is an awesome and we love our stay here and will definitely come back again in the near future
