The staff were uninterested and unhelpful. Upon check in they were waiting amongst themselves at who could avoid the guest the longest before having to get up and attend to us. Any time we went to reception their attitude was like it was a massive effort to do anything. Everyone looked fed up (like most of the staff everywhere in Boracay). No smiles. In the end we avoided going in as much as we could.

The first day our room was cleaned. The next day I had to ask twice for someone to clean it. The rest of the week I gave up asking.

The room was tiny. The photos on booking.com made it look bigger than what it was. They had squeezed a plastic table and chairs into the room so by the time you were in there with your luggage, there was no space to move.
The room was advertised as having a hot shower but it wasn't remotely warm at any time of the day.

The breakfast was really basic. We ordered the confetti scrambled egg which was inconsistent and took a long time to prepare. The coffee was terrible. They didn't have tea for the full week despite it being advertised on the inclusive breakfast menu. It wouldn't have taken anything for a staff member to walk to one of the many convenient stores nearby and buy some for the guests.
They don't chill any bottles of water, only beer.

The only good thing was that they provided sunloungers and beach towels. Most of the resorts do the same though so it wasn't exclusive to this hotel and it didn't stop the vendors from hassling you.
The beach was nice enough to just lay out on a towel or sarong.

In summary, Arwana was so expensive for what you got. We had paid a little extra as it seemed like a nice hotel but were disappointed from start to finish.
If for some reason you were going to stay here, then don't get breakfast included and instead spend the money somewhere else where you will be satisfied (I recommend sunny side cafe).

Although the staff was friendly the sanitary conditions where poor at best ; wi fi took more effort than it was worth and the food horrible . As I was in Boracay for 10 days I tried to do it on the cheap & paid dearly with piece of mind , comfort & a very bad stomach .

We'd been advised prior to our trip to Boracay to stay in Station 3, and we are glad we took this advice! We could walk to the crazy part of town, and then retreat to the comfort and quiet of Arwana down in Station 3. On arrival we were greeted by Paul and the team with fresh juice, a place to get changed and store our bags while we waited for check in. The free breakfasts were great - my favourite part of the day was waking up earlier and taking advantage of the free wifi on the upstairs balcony, sipping my coffee with a view of the sea. The rooms are minimalist and spacious and clean. We had a room on the ground floor but experienced no issues with noise, even on New Years Eve! There is a fabulous spot on the beac in front of the hotel with free loungers for the guests to enjoy. Cocktails are very cheap and can be served to you while the sun sets. We would definitely stay here again. Arwana, thanks for making the first leg of our trip so enjoyable!

Room Tip: if we stayed again we would request a room above ground floor

If they haven't gave us an upgrade we would just rate this as 1 or 2 we booked a standard double room but we were upgraded automatically to a superior room which is not that bad. We saw our original room and it was a bit eerie looking. Location is perfect for people who are looking for privacy. The hotel is small - very personal. The service is great however the basic facilities needs improvement - the sliding door lock (main door of 1 of our rooms was broken), we experienced downtime of electricity more than twice. Wifi is not that reliable. Most of the breakfast served were just tiny amount for foreigner POV. The rice options however were reasonable. Breakfast policy is confusing. We booked for 3 rooms good for 6 but there was only 4 of us but they wouldn't want to give us extra breakfast except just exact 4 which we find funny, no big deal. To be fair the rooms were clean and equipped with new air conditioning and water heater and they are glad to do cleaning almost everyday. Their transfer rates are really good. I love their 2nd floor common veranda where I usually eat my breakfast. The hotel has its own beach chairs and tables which is nice. The beach in station 3 has less fine sand but is as clear and definitely much cleaner. One of us got upgraded into a deluxe room and it looks lovely. It was near the stairs and has a couch. I would give this hotel another try. Hopefully the experience would improve.

If you're looking for a decent place to stay in Boracay at a budget and in a beach front hotel, then Arwana Hotel is perfect for you and your family. If you don't mind the long walk from Station 3 to Stations 1-2.

The place isn't fancy but is good enough. It has the necessary facilities to make your stay comfortable. And the complimentary breakfast isn't bad either.

If ever I'll be going back to Boracay, I would most likely stay in this hotel again.
