Owner description: The second largest beach on Boracay, this popular destination is also called Puka Shell Beach after the prevalent white seashells.
Reviewed 6 April 2018 via mobile

Travel there via boat from Boracay. Small beach but quite nice. Named after the puka shells found there. Small vendor shops selling drinks and juices. Other vendors selling the shell souvenirs etc.
Can spend max 1 hour there.

Pura beach is a few minutes away from White Beach. You can go there by trycicle(200 pesos from Station 2).
There's no shadow but the sea is clear and the atmosphere is really calm and relaxing. There are small bars and restaurants at the beginning of the beach.

nice clean beach which is much quieter than White Beach to spend a few hours at away from the masses. We found a lovely local kitchen cafe for lunch with good food at reasonable prices located on the walk into Puma beach. Beer here was 65 pesos which was cheap compared to bar at far end of beach which charged 150 pesos,

Puka Shell was quite famous for a while. In fact, I already heard about it even before I heard people talking about the White Beach of Boracay Island. Both are located on the same island, but Puka Beach is less frequented, a bit farther from the port area, and has less amenities to offer. But the quality of the sand and of the water is equally great! Compared to the White Beach, this one, relatively speaking, is more pristine and definitely less congested. Be careful though when you swim in this area for it is a bit "cantilada" -- meaning, there is a sudden drop when you start wading through its waters, which can be quite dangerous if you are not a very good swimmer.
