We were there in january 2014, before going to El Nido and the Underground river. Its a quiet, green, tropical place in the middle of Puerto Princessa. You can go everywhere in the city with à tricycle. It feels really safe. They have their own massagebusiness.
Its also à place to go with kids, because there is à really nice swimmingpool.
The staff is very helpfull!!!!!
I wish I was still there.

This is the resort where we spent a night stay before heading our way to El Nido further north of the capital. Most of the hotels/resorts in Puerto Princesa can easily be found in the town proper, but this one is situated on a somewhat obscure location that is a bit of a distance from the main road. To avoid any hassles, make use of their 2-way free airport shuttle pickup. Our group arrived around 8:30PM and reached the resort past 9PM. We were so hungry only to find out that their resto will be closing earlier that time, and also tired enough to even head to the town proper to dine there instead. Fortunately, the kind staff agreed to take a last order. When the orders arrived, I don't know if we're just hungry, but all the dishes tasted so good, esp. the steamed fish in light sauce. You can taste its freshness. It was the best version I've tasted so far in Phils.

After that, another staff guided us to our room. As the name of the resort implies, their rooms have a touch of anything bamboo in them, so as the resort grounds ornamented w/ bamboo trees (kawayan=bamboo). Ours was a family room w/ a living room and two bedrooms. The bedrooms weren't that big. I also found the double beds to be hard and seems of unfit size for two person lying side by side. There were also some annoying mosquitoes during the night.

For kids, they will surely enjoy the resort's pool. My younger nephews enjoyed it bec. it also has pool slides. But do note that since the resort is also allowing day-trippers, the pool can become too crowded anytime within the day. Fortunately, that early morning that day, we had the pool entirely all to ourselves.

We Stayed at kawayanan resort in Puerto prinsesca, Palawan, Filippinerne for 2 nights january 2014. We highly recommend this place: very helpful owner and staff. Good price, ok rooms and nice swimmingpool. Lene, Torben, Maja og Kristian og Nanna, Denmark. A short tricycle ride to shopping center. A good place to stay before or after El Nido and Sabang

Didn't enjoy my stay here at all. There were numerous reasons why.

The reort is in the suburbs of the city and not a great location - you have to get a trike to go anywhere and everywhere (trikes are my least favourite mode of transport in the whole world as they are incredibly uncomfortable for tall or large or even normal sized people).

The resort has no restaurant so guests need to venture out even to eat. Breakfast is same evry day with no options.

There is a pool which would be quite nice but it was always full of noist children, which curtailed its use.

The resort also has wifi but it is incredibly slow and not usable in the rooms.

As for the rooms - these are very basic and low quality. Even had to buy our own soap as none supplied in the jars. The rooms were only cleaned once - pparently guests must ask for rooms to be cleaned! I didn't realise it was an extra service to have one's room cleaned now!

The staff were overall quite miserable too (except for the one guy).

Lastly, upon check out we were told that they don't accept credit cards! This is quite ridiculous for a city hotel in Philippines.

So overall, lots for me to whinge about. :)

Me and my Family already been at Kawayanan Resort twice because of great value on what you paid for. the resort has huge swimming pool that you will enjoy after a long trip from Underground river or from your Honda Bay tour.

One thing we also love being here is that you can buy whatever you want at the market and let them cook for you with extra charge of course but for us , it a plus for a big group that has big tummies to fill . lol.

The staff are so courteous and helpful. they can even contact a tricycle for you when you need it. They can also booked tours for you.

Rooms are quite big and clean.

you can sit around the huts on the ground just be sure you have insect repellant with you because there are mosquitoes around.
