We got this hotel because it is near the shopping frenzy that the ladies like, walking distance to Magga Dua mall for shopping, their IT mall and food stall and such, mostly closes at 5. The hotel is sort of like a classic ambiance, nothing fancy with the view of what people say this is all Jakarta is about. Our toilet door knob is like too old and looks as if it can be pull apart easily, maybe because of its old condition. But not to worry, the room itself requires access card if youre wondering about safety. The rest is self explainatory.

Just to share something that tick us off was the night of our final stay, we came back quite late and noticed we couldnt enter our room with our 2 access card, and found out that we 'didnt make a full payment of our full stay'. I think partially was our fault as we didnt check the receipt properly; due to so many zeros on the Rupiah currency and we thought weve paid everything on the first day itself. But then again who elses paid 3/4 or 75% first of their stay. I recall we tried confirming with them that we wanted to pay everything on the first day, and we got the nodding yes of course and of course yes and, yes. Luckily we have our debit card international transaction enabled before arriving Indonesia. Would be an embarrassment for us to look for cash in the middle of the night.

Getting around is easy, taxi everywhere, as long as you know the destination, just let the cab guy take you there. The hotel concierge is friendly and the room is quite decent enough and that was sufficient for me and my wife.

We were given two rooms on the 16th floor, very spacious with great views. Side by side but no interconnecting door which was inconvenient. Windows needed a good clean but the rest of the room and bathrooms were clean.

Beds are large and comfy, blackout curtains are great, but they don't stop the noise of the 4am call to prayer at the mosque next door. Rooms have a mini fridge (no mini bar), tea and coffee making, robe, slippers, in-room safe.

We arrived around 8pm on a Sat night but the in-house restaurant was closed. We ordered room service one night, the food was tasty but the serves were small. Breakfast buffet was extensive but eggs served pre-cooked and cold which is a shame since the staff are there to cook them fresh. Freshly cooked waffles were a big hit.

The pool area was lovely for a refreshing swim after a hard, hot day of walking in Jakarta.

Generally the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the concierge staff who organised cars and taxis for us and looked after our luggage till late on our last day.

Only two complaints, one was that the hotel never responded to our emails and phone calls prior to our arrival requesting their airport collection service. Second was that we were directly asked to write a favourable review and given a list of things to mention! Needless to say this is my honest opinion despite the latter.

I arrived at midnight and they had sold my non-smoking king bed. after 45 minutes of waiting I left because they refused to upgrade me I had to take 2 singles or King in smoking. When I left they came outside and lied to me and said we upgrade you but just wanted to steal my money and take ash tray out of smoking room and put me in the same room. I checked out of 2nd night after a massive headache when I woke up my room filled with cigarette smoke. Worst Hotel i've stayed at in Asia they won't refund me

Room smells old, bed is hard and not comfortable

Room tip: Make sure not smoking room they take out ash tray to trick you if you are a non-smoker

In general it is a comfy stay, centrally located and near to highway. There is a convenient shop and a Chinese restaurant just right in front of the hotel, so basically you get everything a traveler need within walking distance. There is a great shopping mall within walking distance (roughly 800m).

The staffs are friendly and helpful. Not all of them are very fluent in English but they will get you to the right person.

Some amenities need upgrading. Maintenance alone might not work these days as there are so many hotels in Jakarta.

The only negative side is their "non smoking rules". They have a "non smoking regulation" which they want you to sign upon check in, and the fine is serious. I am lucky that I got a smoking room but I may not be that lucky everytime especially if the booking is done through Agoda / Hotel.com etc.

Hence, you may want to be EXTRA CAREFUL IF YOU ARE A SMOKER.

The hotel will always tell you that all the Jakarta Hotel implement the "non smoking rules" but it is not true, many of them (3 star/ 4 star / 5 star) does not.
