This was probably a grand hotel in it's day and still has some very grand elements like the impressive marble stairs, however when you look closely it is a bit tattered and worn.
we stayed 4 nights and the room was large and comfortable. Beds and linen were very good and nice pillows. one of the few hotels that still have smoking rooms which was a bonus for my partner. the hotel was undergoing some renovations to lifts and there was a constant odour in the halls and lift areas of oxy welding and construction adhesive. all this aside it is a good hotel and close to the metro 200 metres to the right. There is a small convenience shop and a few fruit shops and eating places opposite.
Breakfast was good but not great, fruit juices were awful from machine.
coffee from machines ok usual eggs bacon, sausages tomatoes and lots of Asian foods . concierge was very helpful when we wanted to arrange taxi to hot springs in the mountains.More
