The hotel is quaint & exudes charm. Located in a historical part of Nanjing - access is by foot through lanes filled with charming shops, teahouses, cafes & restaurants. Finding it is a challenge but once you walk through the Chinese gates, a warm welcome awaits.
Service is warm, friendly but English is not widely spoken so it helps a great deal to be able to converse in Mandarin. The hotel has heated flooring & warm throughout. Rooms are small as expected in a lane home but well decorated & equipped with all the necessary mod cons. Wifi is fast & efficient. Breakfast is ordered from a menu & is typically Chinese - noodles, porridge, dumplings but bacon/eggs can also be ordered.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here & havent awarded it 5 stars because it lacks extra facilities (eg swim pool, spa, business centre etc). Definitely recommend if you visit Nanjing. More
