Tonkichi is located on the 4/F of World Trade Centre, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. It is a specialty restaurant for Tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet) but it also serves other dishes like sashimi and sushi. When you order a cutlet dish, it comes in a set with pickled radish, miso soup, rice, and unlimited refill of shredded cabbage salad. Besides fried pork cutlet, there are also shrimp, oyster, scallop and minced beef with potato cutlet on the menu. The breading on the cutlet is so crispy yet the meat remains juicy and soft. It's absolutely delicious. It's a little pricy but worth every penny. If you go for dinner even on weekdays, please make reservation because it can get busy at night. If you are lucky, you might get a booth seating by the window with a spectacular harbor view.

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in town. The cutlet is delicious, though deep fried, but never oily, and the batter never too thick, just good enough to wrap around the meat for the crunchiness. The tonkatsu set comes with shredded cabbage salad and rice, the latter two are free for how many refill you may want. Cabbage is so fresh, sweet and crunchy I seldom add the salad dressing onto it. All in all, it's simply terrific!

This is my quick fix for tonkatsu whenever I visit Hong Kong and cannot make it to Japan. Love their all you can eat cabbage salad and dressing. If I remember correctly, there is 2 kinds of pork you can choose, one is more on the fatty side and the other one is leaner. Pick the fatty one, you will enjoy it so much more. If you are already eating fried stuff, might as well go all the way and enjoy it, right ?

Wide selection of Japanese food but be careful with what are ordering as it can be pricey fast. Staff is very helpful.
