Hong Kong Tai Wan Hotel
Ranked #133 of 162 Speciality Lodging in Hong Kong
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is far from a traditional hostel, located in a building on Nathan Road in downtown Kowloon it is the definition of the HONG KONG living situation. The rooms may say 1 or 2 beds but resemble more of what your closet would be in the western world just add a bathroom and maybe if your lucky a window facing Nathan Rd.

It's a cheap place to stay so do not expect much especially in Hong Kong, it is convineintly located to a metro station, some restaurants both cheap fast food and traditional Cantonese. Being in downtown there are a few banks and bars but not much to boast. All the action if you are interested in bars is at LFK on Hong Kong island where all the skyscrapers and main tourist sites are.

If you want to stay at a resonabaly cheap place in Hong Kong and be close to some of the main attractions then this place is perfect. If you are claustrophobic and are picky about were you sleep and bath then this place is not for you. This is truly a Hong Kong hostel so enjoy or not.

Room Tip: Do not expect much from this place, the price reflects what you get.

And the stupid old lady and old man says.. U come after 2pm no rooms now ! And worst part ! They charge u 20$ for each bag to keep in that stupid hostel ! When we came @ 2 pm.. He said i give u 2 rooms ! One very big and other also big one ! But we had booked 3 rooms ! And he statted argueing ! Their is hardly any politeness in theris talks ! And their rooms reallys sucks ! Its feels like u r stuck in air conditioner prison ! Also that old man threatens u about security ! Robbers around hotel ! So that u stay in one romm and he gets more rooms free ! Stay away !!!

i stayed here for a night only for the experience to find out how it is to stay in this hostel.location wise is good since it is in the middle of tourists attractions and shopping however the room is so small makes you feel like you're in a box and the worst is the bed so hard as a rock, can't sleep due to insect bites, the toilet is shared and you cant move inside because its too small.anyway i"ll just charge this to experience.

Room Tip: ask for a bigger room if there is any.

I was deperate to have somewhere to stay, so stayed here for one night whcih was 1 too many. Good location and that's about it. Avoid this place, there's better places around if they're not booked up.
