“Excellent city centre hotel”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

Centrally situated very good 4* hotel. Actually the situation is excellent being only 100 metres from an access point to the subway/tube/underground. The access point allows you to walk to Tsim Sha Tsui East station but is also an underground walkway system that lets you walk to within a 100 metres or so of the star ferry or comes up on Nathan Road or the Avenue of Stars, very handy to avoid the traffic road crossings or avoid the rain. And of course easy access to connect to all the MTR stations. It is also close to a number of bars and restaurants and two 711’s within 50 metres for snacks or drinks. The hotel itself is well furnished and lives up to its 4* rating. We had a Club Harbour View room and this did indeed give an excellent view of the harbour at night. Not quite the full 180 degrees with just a small part obscured by a high building but an excellent view none the less and worth the money. The room was of a decent size in a city where space is at a premium with usual flat screen tv, fridge etc. Immaculately clean. Rather than the main restaurant, the club harbour rooms use the one on the 38th floor. This was always a very quiet environment with a well stocked range buffet breakfast, with again the harbour view. Very helpful and friendly staff, would stay here again when next in Hong Kong.

I'm very disappointed to unsincere and unprofessional service of the hotel. I booked the superior gold room for 3 pax. to stay in HK during 31-3 of January 2012 (3 nights in total) since Aug 2011 via booking.com, and I asked booking.com to request the hotel an "extra bed" for us as there'r 3 of us as mentioned. The booking.com confirmed us for such extra bed with the rate of 350 HK (excluding service charge) per night. Three (3) weeks prior to my travelling to HK, I contacted the hotel by myself to confirm about such extra bed, the hotel ensured the extra bed and confirmed the booking to us. On 31 December 2011 as the date of my arrival and check-in, the hotel said it was not possible to have an extra bed in such type of room which was the "superior gold" I booked, instead the hotel said the extra bed is possible where it is the "club habour view" room which was more expensive and even worse the charge of the extra bed was 400 HK (excluding service charge) per night.
This was my first time traveling to HK together with 2 of my female friends, and it was the end of the year when it was hard for us the find the other hotels, thus we changed the room with unwillingness to what the hotel told us to do as having no choice, and we must pay more as a consequence of unwell management and unsincereness.
It is bad experience. I am not return to this hotel next time.

Arrived here on the 15th January and stayed just the one night.
.
Positives - Great view from the room, friendly and attentive staff and excellent Bell Boy (The tall guy - really cares, very informative), Clean throughout the hotel, location is superb

Negatives - Room could be bigger, bathroom was very basic and shower looked like it was from the 80's set within the bath, no attention to detail - there were 3 of us sharing the room and they knew this in advance and yet they laid just 2 towels, 2 robes and hardly enough tea/coffee for 2 people - just 2 cups etc. Taxi Driver didnt know the hotel and we had to find the details and he had to call them on his mobile to find out where they were located.

I thought for the price (well over £200 per night) it fell a little short, certainly compared to the Pan Pacific in Singapore where we paid the same price or the Excelsior where we stayed previously in HK. Location wise it is perfect for Kowloon and the staff are friendly but the rooms are average and the bathroom was appaling for a hotel charging this amount of money. Tea/Coffee facilities were mediocre and they hadn't prepared things for 3 people even though we had booked direct in advance.

Breakfast in the morning was good, small selection of Dim Sum, usual Egg station, fruit, cereals etc. It was certainly adequate although I wouldnt want to pay more than £10.

A positive were the great views from the rooftop garden, well worth a visit if you stay at this hotel and as you can see from the picture, the view from the room was spectacular. I would have probably given the hotel 4 points if I had paid £160 - £180 but when you place yourself in the £200+ per night category then you need to live up to that valuation

I loved our stay in this hotel. For one thing, the staff were very friendly, always smiling. Our bellboy was very jolly. Booked for a Silver room, but due to lack of available rooms, we were upgraded to Gold. The room was small, but very clean. The bathroom was nice. It had two showers, so we were able to save a bit more time. In front of the hotel is a currency exchange, and the MTR is just a few steps away. Check out was very fast. They even called a taxi for us on our way back to the airport.
