I enjoyed a really great four-night stay at the Shangri-La Kowloon in late May.
Checkin was exceedingly friendly and efficient, which was very welcome after a grueling 16 hour flight from NYC.
It was a pleasure to walk in to the room and have a spectacular view of the harbor with the lights of Hong Kong island across the water.
The room was large and nicely equipped. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
Breakfast buffets were among the best we have had anywhere. The main restaurant (where the buffet is) was less satisfying at dinner, with relatively slow service and mediocre food. But there are so many good dining options in Hong Kong that we only ate one dinner there.
We had tea one afternoon off the lobby and it was very pleasant.

The location is excellent with easy access to the waterfront, shopping, and dining. There is a subway stop across the street which made it easy for us to get around Hong Kong. Don't be afraid of the subway! It's clean and very efficient, with English signage everywhere.

I would consider staying here again on a future trip, although I am tempted to try the Peninsula or possibly a hotel on Hong Kong Island.

Room Tip: Absolutely choose a harbor-view room.

A fabulous hotel to stay at in Kowloon. From the moment we arrived to the monet we left the hotel was luxurious and the service was fantastic, everything is taken care of before you even think about it. We went for the harbour room and were not dissapointed as the views were uninterupted and not to be missed.
We also ate in one of the restaurants and the food was excellent however the buffet breakfast was not to be missed and truely offered food to suit absolutely any taste.. We didnt want to eat until supper time!

Conveniently located for restaurants and shopping we will definatley stay here again on our next trip to Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Definately go for a harbour view room

Had a great buffet lunch at the hotel last month, amazing varieties and tons for you to eat. Dessert was amazing and you really don't need any dinner that night. We had a great time

Only stayed for 1 night but this is a really nice hotel in a great location. 1 min walk to the water-front, 5 mins to the shops. Rooms are very luxurious and the staff are very attentive.

We stayed for 4 nights in a harbour view room; the room was very comfortable with a lovely large bathroom and walk in shower. The hotel is quite old and therefore there is no problem with noise from adjacent rooms.
The atmosphere in the hotel was very pleasant and the staff are very polite and helpful. We were celebrating our 25 wedding anniversary and the hotel provided some very nice complimentary gifts.
We ate in the Tapas restaurant, which was good quality and not too expensive when compared to the other restaurants in the hotel. As regular visitors to Hong Kong we choose to eat out most of the time, as there is so much choice available.
The location is ideal for sightseeing with an MRT station within minutes from the hotel and pleasant walk along the harbour front will take you to the Star Ferry terminal. Generally the hotels on the Kowloon side provide the best views over the harbour, although much of the sightseeing and better choice of restaurants in on Hong Kong island.
The Kowloon Shangri La is an excellent choice for a short break in HK.

Room Tip: harbour view
