i have stayed here several times in the past...at least 4 different times and everytime was good until this time. This time it was awful. My room has rusted water drip damaged electrical panels. The walls are discolored by what looks like cigarette smoke. The bathroom fan vent is not in the bathroom and is covered in rust. The tv reception is so poor it's unwatchable and the A/C is too powerful for such a closet sized room it's either freezing or the a/c is off and it's 35 degrees in the room. in the past this place was great but this trip it sucked. oh and as an added bonus now clean sheets and the like cost extra if you want them when you stay. I'm sure they are clean when you get there but they won't be during your stay unless you pay extra. For the money this time it is overpriced.

Room Tip: cheap...very cheap

The inn itself is located in a residential building. The rooms are within apartments that Homy inn remodelled and transformed into various tiny rooms. Outside these apartments live normal Hong Kong families (see picture).

The building and also rooms to a lesser extent have an aura of run down. One of the elevators is out of a horror movie. The building is old and dirty in the corridors.

The room is tiny, literally only space for the bed. The bathroom is very small as well. There is virtually almost no space between toilet and sink. There is no shower space. There is a shower head which can be used while sitting down in the toilet or standing in a bent position. Potwntially too difficult for tall / large persons.

The contrast to what advertised online was too much in my opinion. I checked out without sleeping a single night there (I had booked 5 nights). There was no chance of even a partial refund, which to be fair was their right. The only positive was that I used the wifi to book a proper room at the Cityview.

Lesson learnt: if you want a decent room in HK you will need to spend an above average amount. Accommodation that is cheap is usually advertised in a way that could seem misleading to Westerners. Otherwise you can end in a place that seems worse than prisons of the developed world.

-extremely small
-no window
-no space to take a shower (unless while seating on the toilet)
-cracked and run down paint in walls, in general the accommodation seems run down
-no toilet paper was provided

-central location
-no sharing room with other people

Room Tip: As far as I could tell all rooms were similar.

Perfect location, close to the subway, ice cold water dispencer and very clean. However the hostel is really really small. We chose a 6 bed dorm but was placed in a 3 bed dorm (no complaints there) however the 3 bed dorm was literally a triple bunk bed with barely any other room. Not enough room for 3 of you to be stood up at once. However it was perfectly clean and there was a small locker to place your valuables. if you're looking for somewhere of reasonable price simply to lay your head after a long day exploring Hong Kong then this hostel will be fine. Also has very good fast WiFi. The other big let down was the air con. Very loud and barely worked - if this worked u would rate the hostel a 4 rather than a 3.

Stayed here for around US$ 40-50 / night and I can say this is one of the cheapest, but offer good quality in Hong Kong.
Bedroom is small but okay, aircond and wifi worked well, free mineral water in every floor (dispenser).
Location is also very good as the building is near nightlife area and finding food here is definitely not a problem (a portion of noodle near the hotel costs starting HK$ 28).
From airport, you can get to the hotel by taking bus no. A21 and alight at the 21st stop. going to the left, and turn right on the first turn. You can see the sign Hart Avenue and the building is on the right side.
TST MTR station is also 3-min walking distance.

Staffs were also nice and helpful, no problem at all. recommended!

This was my second stay at Homy Inn Tsim Sha Tsui. The first was with friends, last November 2014. I chose to stay here again because MTR stations, bus stops, and grocery were nearby.

Stayed for 4 days in the family bedroom with my parents and my brother. The 2 double beds were comfortable to sleep in. Small bedroom and bathroom space, as expected in Hong Kong.

Shower temperature was difficult to adjust and the water for toilet flush was broken for one day. Dispenser for drinking water on our floor (3rd level) was broken as well so we had to refill our bottles at the dispenser on the 8th floor.

Room was cleaned daily and towels and bedroom slippers replaced daily as well. The reception staff, although with difficulty speaking in English, tried their best to be helpful.
