Presently, the entire Avenue of Stars area along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade is under redevelopment. This includes the Hong Kong Museum of Art which is undergoing major renovation and expansion work and is indefinitely closed to the public.

As part of these efforts the Museum bookshop, podium exhibition area and cafe are unavailable for visitation as well, and this will remain the case for the foreseeable future.

Until the future Museum of Art is made available to the public, providing similar space and services, you can can seek similar harbour views at the nearby TST Promenade and light bites to eat all over this area of the city, which is teeming for food venues.

After going through the Museum, we stopped for a quick coffee and pastry. Both were very good. This was a quiet spot in the bustling harbour front area!

Art Museum only ok but have a small cafe on second floor with outside place to watch the bad symphony of light show at 8pm. Show not so good anymore and have millions of people downstairs to see. Not many people know to go to cafe area where can see the show. Nice place but food not so great. I don't eat here. Only watch the show

We had dinner at the Museum Cafe on evening and the meals were bland gluggy. My wife and I both had pasta dishes and left feeling a bit queasy. Would not return.

We recently visited the HK Museum of Art and decided to pop into the Museum Cafe for a snack and drink. Food here is of fair quality, nothing special but not bad and its not terribly expensive considering the location. You can sit outside, affording you excellent views of the Hong Kong Skyline, if viewing conditions are fair.

During our stop at the Museum Cafe, we tried the Nachos (HK$45), which were actually just a 'chips and salsa' order - with some decent salsa and deep friend chips. Taste was fine (rating 3 of 5) and serving size was good. We also tried the Loaded Potato skins (HK$??). This was a bit of a small portion size but the skins tasted fine, nothing special but nothing bad either (rating 3 o 5). Drinks were a bit pricey a Carlsberg (HK$32) which was just a small can, making this too pricey and a margarita (HK$50) which was not bad.

Overall, the food is not great, but its ok considering the price. What was very good was the view afforded to us for dining outside on the terrace. We ordered late in the evening, around 7.45pm so we were able to enjoy the lovely Hong Kong Skyline while enjoying our snacks and drinks. This is a highly recommendable time to visit the Museum Cafe, just before it closes and just before the Symphony of Lights display over Victoria Harbor.
