An upmarket hotel in a very good area. Expensive but worth it. We were 3 adults - myself and 2 daughters in one room. We never felt cramped. Well appointed rooms. Lovely view onto the city and pool area. Breakfast had both western and eastern food. Walking distance from a good shopping area.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool area are quieter.

This was our second visit to the hotel for its convenient location. The hotel was not a big and international hotel group but everything was up to standard. The hotel lobby, lounge and rooms were spacious. Easy to walk around to WangFuJing, surrounding sight seeing and shopping area. Very safe location. The concierge staff were very helpful to advise us on our trip. We booked through it a van which drove us a day trip to the Great Wall. The quality of the van and the driver was good.

The Regent is large, solid and well-appointed, with an impressively sprawling and marble-heavy lobby area. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room seemed well-appointed and clean, with a comfortable bed. Heating was an issue though, with the thermostat set to 25 on arrival and rarely dropping below that despite adjusting. Opening windows helped a little, but wouldn't be very pleasant at warmer/smoggier times. I stayed 4 nights for a conference, which was given plenty of space but there were numerous minor issues, from iffy wifi to broken covers on the power areas in the middle of the floor, making for a nasty trip hazard. Lobby food/drinks were insanely expensive, but there's plenty nearby ranging from ultra-high to pretty low-end options. All in all a decent place, but could do better on the maintenance.

The Regent Beijing was an excellent choice of base for our first visit to China. Very impressed with public areas of the hotel and the room was also pretty good. Tried out the swimming pool which was huge for a internal hotel pool. We were on a B&B package and the breakfast buffet had a super range of western and eastern fare. Good location with a few other hotels near by and some restaurants very close. The popular Na Jia Garden Restaurant just a couple of minutes along Jinyu Hutong Road (review to follow). Continue along this road for around 15 minutes and you will find yourself at one of the entrances to The Forbidden City
Would quite happily revisit The Regent if we return to Beijing.

We stayed at the Regent Hotel for five nights during the Christmas holiday period. It is well located - close to key historic sites, shops, restaurants and a subway station. Staff were helpful and friendly. The Executive Lounge was excellent - well worth paying extra for. The room was spacious, warm and clean. The breakfast buffet was top quality with a wide range of tastes catered for. The Concierge was very helpful liaising with our private tour guide to the Wall and arranging online tickets for the Forbidden City. The swimming pool was excellent too.

Room Tip: The Executive Rooms are worth paying extra for.
