This is just what we have come to expect of the Ritz. Their staff is excellent. They are articulate accomodating, prepared and helpful no matter the hour, day or night.
The rooms are spacious, well appointed and service is prompt and accurate.
The health club and spa are very well equipped and available whenever you need a work out.

The elevators are accessibility equipped for selecting your floor, but if you want to have a meal there it would be quite an ordeal getting a chair in and out of the restaurant. The walkways are narrow and crowded in the restaurant. As most meals are buffet only that also presents a real challenge. I am sure they would be happy to plate a meal for you but it is a barrier to being comfortable.
It was very difficilt controlling the temperature in the room. It seems they turn the AC off at night.

Just stayed at both of the Ritz Carlton hotels in Beijing on this trip and slightly favor this one in Financial District over the other near Hua Mao. Both locations are good. One east and one west, so you should probably choose the one that's closer to where you'd like to visit most.

The RC at Financial District has been decorated in a more modern flair than the other one. Pool and spa is great. The lounge has decent spread of food and open 24 hours. The other RC are more classic in deco and has cosier settings. Double room sizes at the Financial District are slightly bigger.

Room Tip: rooms facing the courtyard are nicer. Free internet in club lounge

Standards that one would expect from a Ritz Carlton. Most notable point was their assistance with booking me a last minute ticket to Shanghai. A fantastic girl named Levender handled my booking and also escorted me to the lobby so that I could pay. When we stopped at my room, she had realized that she'd not served my colleague the glass of wine he had ordered. She asked if the could use my room phone, and called back to one of her colleagues to ensure the wine was served. Rooms are nice and big, and the beds very comfortable.

Come and stay in Ritz Carlton at least once a week for the past 3 and 4 years. I thought I never need to book the table for lunch or dinner in the hotel. I was wrong this time. Last Tuesday saw all the buffet dinning and Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor were fully booked. Financial street in Beijing is getting busier and busier.

Room Tip: Internet access is not free.
