Only the price is very good. The other things were terrible to me. The room, the bed and bedsheetes were dirty. The room was smelly. i saw lot of places in lot of countries but this was the worst one.

Great comfy little place for bed and breakfast accom,

for a regular mombasa traveller such as me on small budget its just great and good reasonable rates,

very private, discreet place and friendly staff,

mostly quiet area at any time,

hotel can get busy so plan ahead and book,

tall plants placed around the pool area create nice shade and splendid view of the pool, was mostly out at the beach so never got to dip into pool, but saw guests with children busy in the pool,

rooms are clean n large enough, adequately furnished, with fridge and wash basin, ensuite shower / wc, ceiling fan, bed with mozy net, used two rooms while staying and just had to put newspaper or towel under the door at night because it had some gaps at the bottom, but this is usual in most hotels even in flamingo or kahama,

pls do not climb on bed and try to chase any mozy, your head may touch the ceiling fan, the ceiling is a bit low, just spray the room if required according to season, you may see a tiny lizy on the wall, dont chase it because they eat any flies on the walls, you will get used to it anyway,

all windows have grills with glass shutters n nets, nets are great in windows they prevent flies or mozy,

you can relax around small pool and enjoy the bar n tv, the owners are just great,

would like to see some lights at night around the complex, can be a bit dark coming out of the room in the evenings, eventually got used to walking thro tall plants in the complex in the dark evenings, not a problem if you careful enough, helps to understand that the electricity cost is very high in kenya or anywhere else in the world, just try to get an air-con room in kenya it will cost a lot,

copa cabana beach is just walking distance for beach, sea food grills and bar, there was no tide so never swimmed but had long walks on the beach and enjoyed grilled fish n drinks at the two copa cabana beach restaurants,

mtwapa main street is walking distance or taxi for ksh 150 or motorbike for ksh 50, better to use taxi or bike to main street because its all earth roads and sometimes vehicles passing by, on the main street you will find tuskys a large supermarket and many bars / restaurants n night clubs like casaurina / lambada, n also kendals strip club,

matatus are ksh 20-50 from main street to shanzu-bamburi-nyali-town-ferry crossing,

shop in town or get on the ferry to south mombasa, after crossing just catch another matatu to ukunda or diani for another ksh 50 i think,

trip from mtwapa main street to town or ferry about 45min-1hr, you may have to catch another matatu from the same stop in town to reach the ferry, usually the matatu will refund you ksh 10 to pay the next matatu to ferry, refund is for passengers who paid ksh 50 from mtwapa,

on the way to town the matatu passes bata the shoe shop n blue-room a great indian restaurant for burgers or indian snacks, also from town can easily get to cinemax complex for cinema or many restaurants with a quick taxi,

cinemax complex has great atmosphere in the evenings you will see all the local people usually and many local indians, if you want to try shisha (arabian/egyptian pipe smoking i think), mmm gives nice feeling when you take a breath-in n smoke it out into someones face, ha ha

tembo club on fri/sat/sun these days abt 11pm, entrance ksh200 pp, beer ksh 200, soda ksh 120-150,

taxis are a good deal from mtwapa to around mombasa or trips to watamu-malindi-even lamu, better rates than bamburi in my experience, taxi rates for diani day trip ksh 2500, watamu/malindi trip ksh 6000 and for extra night in watamu/malindi expect to compensate driver with room/food cost and 1k or 2k per night on top, alternatively catch a bus from town in mwembe tayari area (its the main bus/fast shuttle center) for very reasonable cost, trip to malindi was only 2hrs from mtwapa, i heard the mtwapa-lamu shuttle reaches in abt 6hrs i think,

stayed at breeze point hotel in malindi with the driver, good rooms n all day restaurant, reasonable for breakfast, drinks n food, and music all day and music concerts on weekends, cost ksh 1000 single room only and double ksh 2500, ceiling fan, ensuite, no fridge, small rooms, mozy net included, free parking, very nice seating areas around the hotel to suit everyone, daytime relaxing on top floor in the shade is available n its just next to your rooms,

if you are looking for great tasting apple mangoes, they are easily found in plenty in the streets of kilifi, large and so sweet, kilifi beach looks great and will def be looking for a place next time around

have a nice trip.....
