We had the best time at Porini Mara. All of the lovely Maasai people working at the camp were super helpful and organized, knowledgeable, kind and personable. The tents were great, the food was great and the overall experience was magical.

After the dry landscape of Amboseli in February, it was a delight to find this was a green oasis of rolling hills and abundant pastures. Very comfortable tent, fantastic food and again an excellent drive/guide and spotter. This camp was tremendous for lions, as well as all the other big game, and we were thrilled by all the young we saw at this time of year. The conservancy model is really working and when we visited all the Wildebeest had migrated from the Masai Mara reserve into our conservancy so we had not need to leave our base at all. Early morning drives with picnic breakfast in the bush, through to evening sundowners and a night drive home - everything exceeded our expectations and will remain in our memories as the holiday of a lifetime. I cannot recommend Porini camps highly enough.

I cannot say enough great things about Porini Mara! From the service to the wildlife to the food, everything was perfect!

The wildlife is abundant! We saw lions on every game drive (including 1 lioness in a tree) and cheetahs on multiple occasions including 2 cubs. Elephants were abundant, and being there during the Loita migration was spectacular! I can’t imagine paying high season prices to see the migration in the Mara. We even had lions right outside our tent on our first night!!!

During our two weeks in East Africa, the service at Porini Mara was by far the best! Special thanks to Geff and Moses who did all they could to make our visit amazing! The food was delicious, and the tents very comfortable. This place is special and one of a kind! While it may not be of the most luxurious standard, the experience is second to none and the tents very comfortable. We stayed at other luxury camps, and each member of our group chose the Porini Mara Camp as our favorite place! Well done Porini!

Our sixth visit to this amazing camp. Beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, exciting and dramatic sightings, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, good food including picknick breakfasts and sundowners from lovely spots. Only six tents. A little paradise on Earth.

This is a small intimate camp (6 tents) with all the mod cons...large tents and en suite facilities. Lunch was served alfresco at a table in the camp grounds and the other meals in the lounge/dining tent. Food was wonderful (with specific veggie meals for me - YEAH!) - as were the staff :manager Jimmy and driver Stanley and guide George. They were all very knowledgeable and friendly. I was made at home on arrival...felt even more so as there were 3 other Aussies in camp too!
The game drives were excellent and one of several highlights was seeing a cheetah mum and 2 small cubs feeding...another was a local mini migration of hundreds of zebra and wildebeest walking up to the grassy plains from their night location near a village. Sundowners were great and it was really nice to have wine/beer etc included in the price. The other highlight for me...in the space of 1.5 days ... was to have a bull eland munching vegetation just near my tent, as well as a female bushbuck and fawn munching grass on the path next to my tent...as well as a family of waterbuck walking past (male, female and youngster). Would definitely return...it was so special!

Room Tip: I was in tent 6...but all look out onto the grasslands
