This was our third visit to Mara Bush Camp, and there will be many more! We come to Kenya each year on safari and of all the luxury camps and accommodation we've stayed in, this is the best by far. It's so well organised and laid out, with every comfort and convenience you could ask for. The tents are beautifully furnished and after coming back 'home' from a long game drive, it's like stepping into a haven. The showers are lovely and hot, the four-poster beds are extremely comfortable, the food is superb and so are the helpful, friendly staff. They make you feel so welcome, it's hard to leave! We'll be back again next year, Mara Bush Camp. We can't wait!

Details about the camp have been given in various reviews, and yes, they are all 100% true. Mara Bush Camp is a great place to relax at, being taken care of and pampered by Sabine, the camp mangeress ;-) and her team. Recharging your ‘batteries’, at least for me, is by 200%. Wild-life is at your hand, in and of course also out of the camp, and that is just a couple of hundred meters away. Competent staff ensure a perfect holiday, wild-life there to be enjoyed. I love it – will be there again in August 2013. Thanks the Nowaks and their crew that make a holiday an unforgettable experience.

5 star Safari tenting in the bush with fabulous food, peaceful suroundings, amazing abundance of wildlife just minutes away and homely hospitality from Sabina and her Masai staff. The camp is set in the bush with no fencing so the animals can roam freely but the Masai are there to protect us. The hippos sleep all day and play by night and you can here them making a sound like they are laughing. The meals were amazing and we ate our under the trees. There was a large beautifully furnished bar tent, a dining tent for cool nights and a office /social tent/ The local Masai had a craft area with amazing jewellery and carvings for sale at reasonable prices.

The camp itself was extremely well laid out; lovely common area with a lounge, reading room, mess tent if weather isn't so wonderful, and a nice open area where one eats if weather is better. Visit their website for more, but suffice to say it was as nice as their promo material (not always the case as we all know). Food was fresh and as good as better restaurants - and one night they had an Africa themed BBQ...again, very nice food. Tents were spacious and well appointed. Staff were all extremeliy friendly from management to askaris. You felt welcomed as a friend. And with the non fenced tented camp right in top wildlife area of the Mara, you 'feel Africa' as you should.

But we went for the animals of course. We saw everything one would hope to save rhinos. But more than just seeing them, we were extremely fortunate to be on a Sunworld Safari - arranged by me with the able help of their office in Nairobi. What this meant was that we had a top certified guide as a driver (David had his silver level, but all have at least bronze guiding certificate). Hard ot over state importance of having a guide who is not only a careful driver, but one who is an expert on all things related to wildlife - big, small, mammal, bird, reptile...all. He not only would find the animals, he knew their behaviour and because of this knew when the lions were not simply walking, but were tracking/hunting...which lion to watch...what she would do...where she would go...and sure enough after spending an hour watching the lions playing and then hunting, he put our car exactly where the lead female chased the warthog that became a snack for the pride. Unbelievable. But it wasn't just a lion kill, as he could talk with expertise about bird behaviour or watch a group of impalas to get sense of where a preditor might be (and would be), and on and on. And we were able to spend a whole day in the park, so we had breakfast watching watching hippos, crocs, baboons and others by the Mara River, and eventually lunch with elephants and giraffes. Amazing. If we wanted to sit and stare at an amimal for hours, we did so. For us, this was lions. We watched two cheetah brothers for a while but David said they wouldn't do much until closer to sunset so we went off for hours watching other game..and returned to spot only to sure enough find them still sitting there, but now slowly getting ready to find dinner. They never did actually go on the hunt as their prey was too far off, but watching the sunset behind the two on a hill was fantastic.

Can't recommend the camp or Sunworld enough. I should point out that I have been on dozens of safaris in southern and eastern Africa using other top tour operators and have stayed at the most basic to exclusive camps, but this was my best safari experience to date. I'll use them again next time without any doubt.

Room Tip: We asked for and got the farthest tent from the mess as it seemed to have the best view of the river. The tents were all spaced out nicely with trees in between for added privacy.

We had a fabulous time in Mara Bush Camp, the staff were very pleasant, Thanks to Sabine who took very good care of us during our stay. The tent was amazing, we felt like we were in a 5 star hotel. We booked through Sunworld Safaris who did an excellent job in planning our made to measure safari with our own driver and 4x4. An experience totally unforgetable. The driver/guide was very knowledgable with all the wildlife and knew where we could see the most animals so we didn't waste much time. All in all it was incredible. Thanks so much Sunworld and your team at Mara Bush Camp.

Room Tip: All tents are the same with a river facing view where you can occassionally see hippos in the river.
