We would highly recommend The Emakoko - it is a charming, beautiful lodge with an excellent level of service.

Having been delayed at baggage reclaim, we arrived rather late at The Emakoko for a one night stay before travelling on to the Masaai Mara. We were collected at the airport by a member of the Emakoko team and then driven in the dark through the Nairobi National Park. We were greeted as though we were going to stay for a week and despite being late, there was food (and wine!) waiting for us.

The room (lodge) was spacious and beautifully decorated with a deck area to look out over the scenery and wandering hippo!

We ate breakfast before being driven through the National Park to Wilson Airport.

We would highly recommend The Emakoko - the warmth of welcome and standard of service was excellent.

If you are looking to stay in Nairobi National Park, this is your place! The staff are very professional, warm, and friendly! Rachel, the relief manager was such a joy to be around and visit with.

The lodge is located in a perfect valley, making you forget you are in the city limits still! The rooms are the perfect size, well designed, comfortable, clean and provide great views, each with a balcony overlooking the gorge. The food was some of the best I have ever had, the three course dinner being absolutely exceptional! The design of the lodge and rooms makes you almost want to not leave on a game drive! From the lodge we say all types of monkeys, hyrax, a genet that is a regular visitor to the bar, crocodile, bush babies and all types of bird-life right there on the premises! There were still fresh lion foot prints on the way to the swimming pool from the night before.

We woke up the next morning and enjoyed coffee from the balcony of our rooms with lions roaring above the ridge. As we drove out for our morning drive we came across a black rhino, not 2 minutes after leaving the lodge.

This is the perfect place to base yourself in Nairobi before going on to other safari destinations. Its perfectly located for visits to the DSWT elephant orphanage and giraffe center as well!

Thanks again Rachel, Anton, Emma and the rest of the team!

Wonderful place. Had a couple of days here on our way to the Mara. Nairobi National park was a good intro to anyone new to safari. Loads of animals and some great game drives. The lodge itself was a lovely place, the food excellent and the people even better. Emma and Anton made us so welcome and Sammy our guide and driver was an absolute delight. Without exception, the staff are warm and welcoming. Some of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. Anyone who visits this wonderful spot, will not be disappointed. Can recommend without hesitation.

Beautiful location and great lodges. Be aware that if you are in one off the lodges on top of the hill you get an amazing view but you also need to walk up a lot off stairs (totally worth the effort).
Staff and service are amazing and so is the food. Perfect romantic get away.
